If you're expecting the smell of freshly baked cinnamon buns on your way to work at 7:00 am, this is not for you
I had been eyeing the Demeter Fragrance Library brand for a long time, and their exceptional fragrances piqued my interest. After trying Angel's Share and other gourmand fragrances, I remembered the ultimate cinnamon scent - the Cinnamon Bun.
In my search for a fragrance that smelled exactly like this, I came across "Cinnamon Bun". The name alone made my heart beat faster and I ordered it immediately. Every day after university, I opened my letterbox full of anticipation, hoping to finally find the longed-for package - the perfume bottle I had been looking for my whole life.
But when it finally arrived, I was disappointed right from the start. The packaging? A simple, white cardboard box with a sticker bearing the name of the perfume. At first I thought it was a test sample, but no - it was actually the regular packaging.
And the fragrance? Pure disillusionment. It just smells like cheap cinnamon, maybe a hint of dough. As my friend said: like a cheap cinnamon aroma diffuser. And to be honest, it would probably smell better.
Today I went back to my favorite bakery and got my beloved cinnamon bun. The scent reminded me again that "Cinnamon Bun" was the worst blind purchase decision I've ever made.
If you want your room to smell like cheap cinnamon decorations, go for it. But if you're looking for a perfume that gives that real "wow effect" of an authentic cinnamon scent, don't go for it.
Maybe the other fragrances from this brand are better, but I won't take the risk. If this one, which should have been my fragrance of a lifetime, was so disappointing
