Warmhearted
In my book, there are two types of enjoyable perfumes: the ones that please and the ones that excite. 31 Rue Cambon is a pleaser. It exudes both friendliness and elegance. It has a warm welcoming heart that is hard to not like. And it has quality ingredients that are engineered to perfection - resulting in a controlled performance and maximum wearability. Personally I would wear this on evenings out or on cozy casual occasions.

I don't detect much development in 31RC. The pepper note is prominent in the opening, but it fits surprisingly well in the smooth slightly powdery composition. The chypre base feels very familiar and highly refined. It gives off a lovely glow-in-the-dark warmth. Mildly radiant, never too much.

This whole lovable care-bear glow is also why I consider 31RC a perfume that does not excite. There is no drama here, and nothing that shocks, awes or surprises. But that is fine. Sometimes a warm heart is all you need.

You will always be complimented on it
First of all, I'll say that until recently I didn't really know this perfume.

Until I came across someone who was selling it at a good price, I went straight in to check the notes of the perfume and saw a scent profile that I was sure I liked and I bought it blindly.

And I will say that it was an excellent purchase.

Floral, Chypre, green scent profile.

Every time I wear it I get compliments from people even long hours after I wore it and that just shows how great this perfume performs.

Iris, ylang ylang, green notes that lighten the combination, bergamot and more that take this perfume and make it versatile for all seasons.

9/10.

The most beautiful chypre perfume…
A stunning perfume from Chanel.
I remember the first time I tried it in Vienna, it blew me away, a really beautiful perfume.
After trying almost 800 perfumes it’s really hard to impress me but 31Rue Cambon did it.
This is a perfume of iris, ylang-ylang, aldehyde and amber. The iris is very prominent in the opening. I can fell the amber, but it is very very subtle and present.
In the drydown it is powdery, honeyed, you can feel patchouli and a little bit of woody notes.
31 Rue Cambon is a fresh oriental chypre perfume. Very French, luxurious and elegant.
Longevity over 15 hours, the projection is really great, it definitely fills the room.

Great, semi-transparent take on a vintage feminine chypre
This one took me by surprise, its amazing but i tried to wear it and its too feminine and grand for me, i felt too uncomfortable and out of my element when i wear this.

Now to the scent, its very complex and has 3 phases: 1st one is the peppery green citrus blast in the opening, its refreshing and provides a contrast to what is later to come. After that comes 2nd phase, a powdery grand floral mid, it has a funky indolic smell to it, but never goes full animalic. But the funk is there for sure. 3rd phase is the resinous labdanum patchouli combo, also slightly funky and dirty. This fragrance doesnt have oakmoss, but it has that chypre contrast feeling to it for sure. Along with Antaeus and Cristalle, these are the best Chanels chypre offerings you can get.

Lovely in the summer
To me this screams urban summer - great for the office, great for wearing on a weekend strolling around the city, when a different perfume would be simply too much in high temperatures; great for mornings and evenings alike. It's fresh, it's just a bit green and just a bit flowery, it's perfect. I fell in love with it!

Peppery patchouli floral. Extremely chic and complex. Someone said this is the "sweaty supermodel" fragrance, and i can see why. Excellent.

A little black Chanel tailleur in scent...irresistibly chic. The neo-chypre of our times: floral forward, present, and a little bit dirty.

Borderline heady perfumed florals turning honeyed fruity and almost leathery. Rather cozy and divine with that characteristic Chanel vibe.

A very finely executed chypre that feels vintage and modern at the same time. Strong citrus and yellow florals with a bit of labdanum.

An iris chypre as it should be. Addictive powdery green that is both zesty and earthy at the same time. Artful and ethereal.

Perfect floral woody patchouli powder with a green base. Usual Chanel elegance. Not for the home office. Whatever!

The EdP follows almost a decade later after the EdT and adds a stronger powdery note to the green, modern chypre tone of the original.

Softer, powdery, and quieter than EDT. Not as green and woody, less Chypre, more cotton. You need both :)

Fresh-green and dry-powdery iris scent. Delicate patch notes, later distinctly floral, softly sweet. Clean, elegant, and unobtrusive. Unisex.
