Sharp Plum Schnapps
Cologne has always been one of the German capitals when it comes to perfume - not necessarily at the moment regarding shops, where the forbidden city a bit north of the Rhine clearly has the upper hand, but rather in terms of perfume creations, from 4711 to Farina. Now, Duftwerk adds another exclamation mark to this series of Cologne fragrances with "Cologne Xtreme." I bought it in the wonderful, cozy, well-organized, new niche store SF Parfume History in the small Budengasse of Cologne's old town. Hidden but definitely worth a visit for any perfume enthusiast.
“Cologne Xtreme” is not a classic Cologne. Rather, it is a sharp, biting, modern interpretation. Almost like a high-proof spirit or aftershave, this highly pitched plum acts on the skin. Potent and lightning-fast. Suitable for the height of summer but also for other occasions. It lasts forever for its genre and has strength. Aerodynamic and alcoholic, it almost sizzles in the nose. Certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but I like it very much. Due to its simple, straight, and uncomplicated nature, it is surely also ideal for layering. As if you were mixing fruit brandy with “Fleur de Male.” The orange blossom has rarely had more percentages. Very aggressive and tipsy. A little pirate drink. And even if just for Carnival. Sharp-edged and somehow sexy.
