Sparkling rosé wine & peach blossom (Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Rosé Dupe)
When I tested Genius Rose for the first time, I thought I knew it.
I smelled it at some point in the last few years.
At first I thought of La Vie est Belle L'Eau de Parfum
I unpacked my LVEB bottle, compared the two and no, it wasn't that one.
After much deliberation, I did some research online and finally found what I was looking for.
This is supposed to be a dupe for 212 VIP Rosé Eau de Parfum.
That makes sense, because the notes, even if you can't see them here, are actually almost identical.
So it's a feminine fragrance.
Definitely NOT unisex, although Emper says it is.
Of course, everyone can wear what they want, but for me personally it is 100% a women's perfume.
The fragrance starts with an inexplicable tingling note and lots of pepper This is supposed to be "sparkling rosé wine".
I don't drink alcohol, so I don't really know what rosé wine is supposed to smell like, but the tingle is reminiscent of something alcoholic.
The original says "pink champagne".
That would probably be more appropriate.
It becomes pleasantly sweet after a short time.
Not candy-like sweet, but sweet nonetheless.
This is probably triggered by the peach blossom, which is much more present here than the rose, which is also listed in the DD.
Subtly fruity, floral, feminine - that's how I would describe Genius Rose.
At the end, I detect a little musk.
It joins in almost inconspicuously and then remains in the background.
The peach blossom is the most prominent note for me until the end.
The performance is unfortunately not the best.
With 4 sprays, I barely notice the fragrance.
Maybe it needs to mature? Or maybe I'm becoming fragrance blind? I don't know.
I can smell it when I move.
It can be described as slightly fleeting, but still noticeable.
The longevity doesn't seem to be the best either, but it lasts about a day on clothes.
All in all, you can say that you get designer quality for a small price.
You can currently get the fragrance for €19.60.
So P/L is definitely more than okay.
