Best Dark Oud Emper

So far, rose fragrances have not convinced me much, but Best Dark Oud is the first one that I will wear more often!

With other rose fragrances, I was often bothered by the fact that the rose felt rather heavy, almost overwhelming to me. The association was more of an older lady dressed in fur. By the way, "Dark" here is nothing but the flanker. Here, in my opinion, we have a very pleasantly sweet rose note that surrounds me with a nice lightness. It feels clean and elegant, has a good sillage, and the longevity is top-notch!

Since I don't know the original, I can't make any comparisons. However, for lovers of rose scents, or even for those who are not particularly fond of roses like me, but still want to appreciate the fascination of fragrances in this direction, I would warmly recommend Best Dark Oud (even though I don't know what the "Dark" stands for). At a price of €8-12, you simply can't go wrong.

I own a sample of Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum and have compared it several times with Emper Dark Oud. I have also tested Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum.

The differences:
◽Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum smells more luxurious. Deeper, smoother, more balanced.
◽Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum feels soapier and woodier than Emper Dark Oud. For me, violet and possibly benzoin/oud dominate.
◽In Emper Dark Oud, the sweet rose is more pronounced. This makes the clone feel more inviting, more gourmand.

The similarities:
◽Both smell fantastic in the air. Emper Dark Oud exudes a similar elegance in the air as the original. The quality difference does not play a significant role.
◽Both fragrances have a strong sillage and longevity.
◽Both have a powdery, jammy vibe.

You should buy Emper Dark Oud:
◽If you love Oud Satin Mood but cannot afford the original.
◽If you want to try Oud Satin Mood with a sweet rosy twist.
◽If you are looking for a beast mode fragrance for the cold season.

You should skip Emper Dark Oud:
◽If you revere the original and cannot do without the exact scent profile or quality.

The year is slowly coming to an end and with Best Dark Oud I've found the bargain of the year.
For an incredible 8 €, you can still get it in the Black Friday sale.

And almost even better than the price is the scent.
Very similar to Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum.
Of course, the original smells more luxurious and therefore a bit better.
Nevertheless, the Emper manages to impress and is really hard to distinguish from the original in the air.

My only point of criticism is the opening.
I perceive sharp benzoin and violet, it almost has a glue-like quality.
You have to endure that for 1-2 minutes.
Then this beautiful, powdery, sweet Turkish rose emerges.
Just as you know it from the original, Emper has done a really good job with that.
Presumably, the vanilla and amber, which for me smell more like lokum, provide the sweetness.
One should not expect realistic vanilla/amber here.

In the dry down, the scent remains quite sweet and powdery.
Benzoin and the floral notes are prominent and help ensure that it never becomes unbearably sweet.
Still, BDO is quite a sweet fragrance, so you should know that before clicking buy.

In the end, I perceive this wonderful lokum rose in the air.
So even towards the end, it's still a great dupe for OSM.

Very elegant and mature, slightly feminine, but still unisex.
Perfect for colder days, for dates, and for 8 euros certainly also for the supermarket :D

The performance is top-notch.
On the first day, I thought, what a beast.
After that, my nose probably got used to it or it's just a strong scent and not a beast, but that's fine too.
Sillage is also very good, you definitely shouldn't overspray.

My conclusion: beautiful scent, but you have to like OSM to enjoy this one.
The offer is probably only valid for a few days, then the price will go up again, so be quick!
