nauseating florals and not my personal fav
I've worn over a dozen frags from wild veil's line over the past year and love a lot of this brand. however, i found huntress' aroma to be truly repulsive and had to wash it off and the smell subsisted after washing. so points for silage i guess however i did not like the floral and green notes. it was nauseating but i do not like a lot of florals and may have a scentscitivity to clary sage so if you like Strong Floral+Greens this could be for you. I regifted this sample to a friend and hope they enjoyed it more than me.

The Chosen One
They anointed you as the moon hid behind thick clouds, with a balm of bitter herbs, sweetened with just a drop of linden honey. As bright threads of incense broke through the night from afar, the paste melted under the excited beating of your pulse. A hint of coconut oil glistened on your slender limbs as the crescent moon fought its way through the darkness. Its silvery breath did not hint at the green of your garments, the color of the smoky grasses of the steppe that you will traverse, for you are the Chosen One. The Huntress.
Reverently, you accept the wooden bowl from the hand of the priestess, rubbing light clay on your arms. The departure is near. The ground is still damp and gently cushions under the touch of your delicate feet as the first shimmering lights of day blur the glow of the moon. You quicken your steps, falling into a light run. Towards the twilight. The quiver with the Palo Santo arrows swings on your back. They have adorned it with champaca flowers, as tradition demands. For you are the Chosen One. The Huntress.
Your movements warm the skin in the cool morning dew, awakening the scent of the balm. Like a memory, the honey touches your lips, softly whispering of the hay on your bed and the sweet sleep of the night that may come. But now the grasses sway, dew-soaked and glittering around your ankles. You follow the path that your instinct shows you. If you succeed, you will kneel at the rosewood altar, crowned with a garland of muscatel flowers. For you are the Chosen One. The Huntress.

**

The American indie perfumer Abby Hinsman from Vermont hung up a career in film and media studies to fully dedicate herself to her passion: she creates plant-based fragrances, using ingredients she grows in her garden or gathers in her own woodland. She pursues a holistic artistic approach, often dedicating her small olfactory stories to fairy tale motifs or mythological figures, when she is not capturing snapshots of special places. Fundamentally, I sense an unobtrusive feminist approach behind her concept, which I find extremely appealing.
Huntress is dedicated to Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, who moves as a balancing force through moonlit forests. And indeed, the fragrance succeeds remarkably well in evoking this night-and-moonlight impression with cool notes of vetiver, citrusy incense, and a touch of juicy leafy greens, although personally, I cannot quite grasp the forest idea and feel more transported to a dew-soaked grassland with soft ground. From the very beginning, a subtle coconut note resonates, which at times made me suspect I was smelling the carrier oil. However, after several tests, I am quite sure that this is simply a facet of Palo Santo, especially since the coconut note transitions quite quickly to a woody scent in warmer weather. This smoky-green, rather bitter, and earthy-cool top note is balanced by a gentle hint of honey-sweet linden blossoms, to which a further delicate floral note gradually joins, for which I needed the pyramid and a bit of imagination to identify as champaca. This is particularly true because at this point, it is not the flowers but rather slightly human muscatel sage and earthy notes reminiscent of light clay that set the tone in the fragrance, culminating in a base of warm rosewood.
Huntress is consistently bright and light, with a smooth scent progression where all components land purposefully in their intended place, harmonious and balanced. For me, due to the initial coconut note and the prominent muscatel sage, which is also not one of my favorite notes, it is quite a demanding fragrance that only revealed itself to me after several attempts and at higher temperatures. Therefore, Abby Hinsman's Artemis is not a candidate for purchase for me, but I would not have wanted to miss the encounter with this delicate treasure in bright green tones.

Thank you for the testing opportunity, dear Floyd.
