Dear, old Paillettes!
It was another 80s symbol and I wore it the last day of the year or for the parties. Aldheides and fruity notes gave it something fizzy to this iconic and popular scent.
I remember a rich and well balanced bouquet that I don't find at all in the reformulated fragrance of today, totally synthetic and without sillage. I'd like to find a vintage bottle to live again my Youth !

Back to Youth
I have always loved perfumes.

I was probably influenced by my mother, who has always applied lipstick and perfume before leaving the house. Her favorite scent is and was Chanel No. 5.

I have also remained a classicist: I love all scents from the 80s and 90s.

So also Paillettes!

I associate Paillettes with my youth in a small town in North Rhine-Westphalia.
There were 3 perfumeries where, under the pretense of wanting to buy something, you could try out a fragrance as a student.

Perfumeries were a place of luxury. And the perfumery saleswoman was kissed by luck to be able to be in that place every day.
Price comparisons were unnecessary: every fragrance cost the same everywhere.

I still remember exactly in which perfumery I bought Paillettes: at the corner by Kaiserplatz.
I believe it was displayed on a stand near the door, so it had to be seen from the outside.
The glass bottle with its beautiful, floral, but also unique scent was hidden in a fuchsia-colored plastic casing.

I used it sparingly, as I, being a student, did not have the financial means to afford new fragrances often.
Paillettes and I experienced a lot together.
This bottle also accompanied me through my apprenticeship, and then it was empty.

Please forgive me for not being able to describe the scent; I lack the fine and trained nose for that.

I then turned to other stronger, bolder fragrances, and it fell into oblivion.

A few years ago, I started collecting the beautiful old scents from Jil Sander, Bogner, Caren Pfleger, Paco Rabanne, Fendi, Lagerfeld.... Sniffing the bottles or the little sprayer often brings me back to moments that would not otherwise come to my memory.

But I have unfortunately only ever received Paillettes as a miniature. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get it as an old scent!

Now, a few days ago, I dared to order it anew!

And what can I say:
It took me back to my memories so much that I decided to write about this beautiful scent so that it does not completely fade into oblivion and to encourage some lover of old scents to give an old fragrance a chance, even after reformulations.

Surely it is not quite the same as before, but for memories and a beautiful fragrance experience, it is more than enough.

Moreover, my fifteen-year-old son has already praised me for my new perfume. And we both sniffed the old and the new scent again and think it’s good that way!

Enjoy the wonderful scents and the memories they awaken in you.....

Another discontinued gem: the scent of the 80es in a bottle. Perfectly balanced between Woody and floral notes with a good sillage.I miss it

After the aldehydic opening, it becomes slim, fruity-light, and dewy-fresh floral with Ylang and Orchid. More Miss than Lady. (VintageMini)

Unforgettable, strong, sweet, quirky. Once THE scent from Coveri.
