Blackcurrant Incense
From the incense Frohliche series, the third iteration is for me the most interesting one. Not that the other two are not good, they are, indeed, amazing incenses, and i still regret that i haven't purchased a bottle of the chocolate-incensed No 1. But for me the No 3 has the unusual combination of blackcurrant with incense. Blackcurrant is a complicated note to me. It smells fruity, but in a bitter way, and something on it, if not balanced, smells to my nose like wet-dog and piss. I don't get this nuances on this one, instead Erik seems to cleverly acentuate the rosy and minty nuances that are kept usually on the background of blackcurrant compositions. I suspect that the geranium may be an important player in linking the fresh, mentolated incense side with the fruity, leafy and bitter blackcurrant one. Altough i see many notes listed above, this fragrance seems to bee all about those three, that remains balanced through a long time on skin. Since this series has fragrances that doesn't remain in production too long, i strongly recommend try it while you can, i don't remember having smelling anything like this before.
