Oud Noir Intense Fragrance Du Bois 2013

Oud Wood was my first fragrance ever. To this day, it is also the only fragrance that I fell in love with the first time I smelled it and couldn't get it out of my head until I finally held a bottle in my hand. A rebuy was still out of the question, which is why I came across Oud Noir Intense, which I was recently able to test extensively.

In my opinion, the fragrance can be described as a more mature, rounder and more conservative version of Oud Wood. However, these attributes are meant to be less judgmental than they may sound at first, but rather refer to the fragrance impression. Oud Noir Intense does not have the medicinal, edgy touch that Oud Wood exudes in the top note and which to a certain extent also characterizes Oud Wood for many. Instead, the top note has what I perceive as a herbaceous component, which is quite pleasant but does not really create a "wow effect". The fragrance then shows its strengths when this aspect fades more into the background.

Oud Noir offers a more harmonious overall picture, which conveys a wonderful, warm impression.
This intensifies as the fragrance progresses, which unfortunately goes hand in hand with the fact that the fragrance is at its most beautiful in my eyes when it is only perceptible close to the skin. In line with my description of it as a "conserative", I would place Oud Noir Intense in my opinion more with an older target group.
