Thin layer of candy
A lot of fragrances have the same effect on me nowadays and this one is no exception.

It’s a bit like a lollipop with a certain taste but that’s only the thin outer layer. It you’re past that layer you hit a certain generic, boring sweetness which makes you want to throw away the lollipop.

This time it’s orange. I get that orange smell that lots of candies are made of. Very nice but only lasts … well … not even a half an hour.

After that it’s like: ok I’m wearing a perfume. Nothing special. It doesn’t want me to throw away the lollipop just yet so that’s a positive but it’s nothing special either.

Intense compared
I really like Cédrat Boisé and was looking forward to the Intense variety. It is a great scent, but compared to the ‘old’ version it just falls short. Intense Cédrat Boisé is so much more subdued and modest compared to Cédrat Boisé. The previous version is way more poppy, vibrant and sparkly, and after about 3 to 4 hours of wearing, it arrives at where Intense Cédrat Boisé is at 5 minutes in. Maybe I just like its roughness, but I would pick the original over the intense version. Even if you don’t own either one. Which you should.

It is very similar to the original…
… the average nose might not detect ANY difference at all.

I’m seeing conflicting reviews saying it isn’t as great a performer, but I feel there’s relativity to that statement.

On my skin, it’s not AS loud as the original in the opening, but it’s thicker and smoother all the way through. You can definitely tell they’re from the same DNA, and I don’t think you need both in your collection (but I’m glad I DO). The intense doesn’t project as much in the opening, but to me, is a better overall performer. That “thickness” lasts for an easy 8 hours, while the original backs off to a much softer degree, much earlier.

Is one better than the other? I honestly don’t think so. They both smell fantastic, and each has something that you might want on a different day. During the mid, the intense is heavenly.

The projection radius is a medium build, but once you enter that radius, it’s a THICK cloud. Sillage is also great, as that thickness sits for a decent timeframe, and longevity is also good, as I’m still smelling it a good 7-9hours after the initial sprays.

If you shoot a good 5-7 sprays, there’s nothing to be disappointed about, projection, sillage, and longevity will be great.

Cedrat Boise 2.0
First of all I would like to say that the Eau de Parfum Cedrat Boise is one of my absolute favorite perfumes on the market. It does it´s job very well, it is slightly citrussy, fruity but also woody .. in a combination which for me makes it really a winner.

When I heard a few weeks ago from Sebastian the Fragrance Guy that an Intense is coming, I was very excited about the idea and was really looking forward to test it, the Reflection 45 from Amouage had the same effect on me and you can see my review for that too.

Today I had the chance to test the Intense version and I like what I smell, more details about my review you can see in the video below. Thank you for watching.

Woody Cedrat Boise
If Cedrat Boise is a mid-week pick up game at the park, then Intense CB is a game of golf on the weekend. Mancera’s naming generator needs to be calibrated because none of their “intense” offerings are in fact more intense than the originals. I get it though, as “Mature Cedrat Boise” doesn’t sound as marketable, but thats precisely what this is- a more mature Cedrat Boise. Like the original this is good for all occasions and all seasons. Unlike the original they’ve smoothed out the edges, made it woodier and brought the leather to the front. Like all things mature, this isn’t sticking around all night nor is it yelling at its friends from across the room. If you want a longer, louder fragrance, the original is for you. If you want something less sweet, go with the intense, But definitely don’t buy both. They aren’t different enough for that.

Thicker than the original, but longer lasting and more masculine. I absolutely love this. A no brainer of a purchase and possible signature.

Not a bad scent, but very generic. More musky than cédrat or boisé. Very sweet. Performance is good.

Bolder/smoother take on the OG; decent all-year frag that shines in the cooler months. A bit synthetic in the top and mid. Okay performance.

Comparing with the original, there is more citrus and less blackcurrant in the opening. The scent is less sweet and the leather is weaker.

I went back and forth on if I like this. Value? Yes, but citrus and leather? I just don't dig that vibe. Sour leather is not for me. Over-hyped

Less sharp compared to the OG but much richer in my opinion. Better performance than the OG. Citrus, leather, wood and soft vanilla.

Born next from Aventus clone but this is better than Aventus.

It produces the same sensations as the original. Some different shades. It is more marketing than new proposal.
