Thameen?
Something strange happened when I tested this fragrance on my skin. I sprayed it on my right hand, I smelled it and then my brain thought: I know this, it's Thameen's Carved Oud. Then, I sprayed my Carved Oud on the left hand and both were very, very, very, very close. I don't know which one was the first, but are quite similar, being Carved Oud more refined than Oud Noir Intense .
Regarding the smell, both are magnificent, however, on my skin Thammen's Carved Oud longevity is the winner by far.

Is this the better Oud Wood ?
I liked Oud Wood from Tom Ford from the first moment I sprayed it in an airport up to this moment, however sometimes the medicinal Oud note was not really of my liking. Then, I decided to try the better version, the ONI with natural oud and fancy packaging.

It does not dissapoint for sure and the blue cheese smell is something I enjoy, if you do not like that smell then ONI will not be for you. What I like about FDPs perfumes is that they use natural, smooth oud oils which do not stink and exude higher quality compared to the cheaper barnyardy oud oils.

The longevity of FDP is decent with about 7-8 hours for me and the smell gets into a nice dry down, however the Oud Wood has a nicer cozier dry down than this.

If you would like to see more about this versus, please see the video below.

Oud wood done better
Yes as many of you that smelled oud wood by TF woud immediately smell that they’re similar. Yet again for a trained nose you will notice the difference in natural ingredients and mainly the oud. For me this is the smoother better blended perfume. And to know that Oud wood is also expensive and you can get this one second hand always go for this one!

Oud par excellence...
…definitely, this is how I title this masterpiece to which I also dedicate my first comment.

But before I get to the scent itself & the description, I would like to briefly address the "fake news" circulating about Fragrance de Bois on the internet.
It is claimed that during the transition from EdP to Parfum, the fragrances were reformulated, no Oud oil is used anymore & that they have significantly worse performance.

This is not true!

I can reassure you, because the color of the perfume, the longevity & texture
(very oily spray film) are absolutely identical to the EdP version.
The only thing that has changed is the labeling on the bottles & the packaging. That's all there is to it.

Now to the scent: The claim that many smell cheese in the top note is really nonsense, as there is absolutely none of that.
ONI starts with cardamom & very medicinal, oily Oud, which carries through to the end. In the middle phase, saffron and wood join in; drydown in amber-vanilla.
Everything harmonizes perfectly together & smells simply, unfortunately ... amazing!

I find a comparison with Oud Wood rather difficult, as the differences are too great & the ONI is significantly more complex, stronger ... almost gigantic.
Longevity is easily 10 hours and due to the oily consistency, you still have something of it even after showering ;).

The scent comes in a black velvet box. A certificate stating that the perfume consists of pure natural Oud oil with the origin of the Oud is also included, along with an Oud wood chip.
Here you can tell that 110% commitment to quality is upheld.

I am absolutely convinced by Fragrance de Bois & look forward to more fragrances.

A New Generation
Tom Ford's Oud Wood holds a special value in my life. On one hand, it's because I truly love the DNA, and on the other hand, it's also because I found my way into the world of perfume through OW.

When I randomly took the small sample out of my box today, the name of the perfume alone piqued my curiosity. A quick look at Parfumo immediately revealed to me that it must be a similar scent direction to OW. And indeed, that was the case. The fragrance has very strong parallels to my beloved TF, however, it starts off a whole lot more aggressive and zesty. The sillage and longevity are also not comparable to OW.

After a few minutes, a wonderful image spread in my mind. When thinking of TF, I briefly envisioned an older person. Still present, powerful, protective, and with a vast knowledge that he loves to share with the world. However, he is also marked by his sufferings, which often require him to take a break from everyday life; he lacks a bit of energy.
On the other hand, there stands a young person, ready to absorb the knowledge of the older individual, but refreshing it with something modern, giving it a direction forward, putting more energy into actions, and showing the world that he is here, that he is present.

Initio with Oud For Greatness has also tried to achieve what this fragrance has accomplished in my eyes (in my nose ;-) ), but I find this one to be even more powerful.
So, anyone who can appreciate TF OW should definitely give this fragrance a try. I'm sure you will like it.

Fecal opening, then turns into a very similar Oud Wood by TF, maybe one of the best from this line. I still would get TF instead

Its richer, enhanced and more complex interpretation of planetary popular Oud Wood by TF. Opening is a bit funky and animalic. Great one.

Similar to Oud Wood from TF. Maybe a bit stronger.

Mildly boozy/animalic in the open. Scent is mainly woody (think TF "Oud Wood" scent class) w/ rose & musk. Leans masc, poor performance.

A rather spicy and pronounced powdery-floral Fall fragrance, balanced by a gentle and dry musky-woody base. Slightly animalic. 100% unisex!

It does have that funky oud smell, but only a little bit. It's well made and definitely a head turner. More mature than oud wood.

A luxurious, complex blend of oud, spices and florals. Indulge in a sophisticated scent that is both captivating and enduring.

Much better than oud wood IMO. Nice animalic, little bit harsh opening with mellow dry down with lots of musk.

Beautiful, spicy oud scent.
Only slightly floral,
later quite woody
Nice fragrance, but too expensive for what you get.
