Versatile, woody, slightly spicy citrus, but a little less interesting than others I've tried in the house so far

Sampling Fulton & Roark Perpetua (in its extrait form), a bright, sharp, fresh mix with a full note list of neroli, lemon, amber, jasmine, coumarin, and cedarwood. The coumarin is certainly the most provocative aspect but is used in a modest proportion, best that I can tell, with the main center of fresh and woody notes telling most of the story. Like Narada and Palmetto before it (which I sampled earlier), this a fresh and fairly easygoing option that nonetheless has a little bit of provocation and idiosyncrasy to it. It has a bit of a fruity quality to it beyond the lemon, borderline ripe, pulpy, and floral, so it’s got some heartiness to it. Overall, I like it comparably to Palmetto but I think Narada is the most of interesting of these three fresh semi-spicy (the other two are spicier and pepper-rich), but this is a nice versatile freshie that, while not terribly innovative, gets the job done.

Like the rest of the line, the extrait version is priced at $250 for 50ml, though it’s also available in solid perfume format and a couple of other formats, as well, sold through the house and (I believe) some other retailers. The pricing is a bit of a challenge given than it’s higher than what I feel the market generally is for a scent that’s not terribly creative, albeit interesting, and it’s a bit of a shame that the pricing is the same across the board for the board for the new extrait line (mimicking existing solid perfume scents) that came out in 2023.
