Sharp, spicy, leathery tobacco, a bit of a varnish vibe
Sampling Fulton & Roark Sterling, a sharp blend featuring prominent notes of tobacco leaf and amber, almost with a varnish/lacquer/borderline whiskey type of vibe, as well, striking and fairly powerful, though not extremely dense. It’s a non-sweet contrast to Calle Ocho, the boozier sweeter blend. It expectedly dries down to be a little calmer, though its character does not change much, with still a lot of sharpness, borderline metallic, some hours in.
Like the rest of the extrait collection, Sterling is priced at $205 for 50ml, far from cheap, so I’d really only recommend a full bottle if you love it, and while I like it, I don’t love it, but I think it will suit some people very well in the cooler months, especially. My favorites of my sample set of five were ultimately Calle Ocho and Narada.
