More than Oud and Musk...
Among my samples, I discovered a tiny drop of this noble essence, which I struggled to distribute on my arms - but as it is with fragrance oils, the amount is more than sufficient.
The quality is simply wonderful. I love this about high-quality Arabic fragrance oils. They are not as delicate, as accentuated, and artistically composed as a great Western niche fragrance; yet the quality of the ingredients simply crushes everything known from Western perfumery with force.
The Oud here appears to be of very high quality. Ethereal, woody, not a bit fecal. Crystal clear and very clean.
Musk, however, I know more as clean musk or the rather animalistic musk. Then there are these white musk blends.
But here, something sweetly sugary comes with the Oud, which reminds me of a fragrance I once had under my nose, often called "caramel" or "cotton candy." I am sure something like that is included. Additionally, for my nose, there is a soft, clean musk that adds a bit of weight, making everything appear a bit clearer. This is very nice; the sweet-woody-ethereal composition does not overwhelm you but allows room to breathe.
I still think that one should hold back with other fragrance notes when using high-quality Oud. If you are using such beautiful Oud, it should clearly take center stage, and everything else should just be a quiet counter-melody to make the Oud shine even more beautifully. I cannot find a current price, but Al Quarashi generally belongs to the more expensive brands among Arabic manufacturers. You can undoubtedly notice a wonderful quality. However, at least in the opening, the sweetness unfortunately overshadows the Oud a bit.
Now, after some time, the fragrance becomes incredibly ethereal. Sweet nuances recede into the background, and it becomes almost lightly "fresh." Ethereal components appear incredibly dominant. This is wonderful. Now we are at a point I had hoped for. Oud - in full splendor, in full beauty. Musk and sweet notes merely dance around everything.
A beautiful fragrance for cold days or a cozy cuddle evening.
