Grilled Bananas
This perfume starts with an extremely strong banana note that far surpasses the natural aroma of raw bananas in intensity and therefore initially comes across as synthetic. For a moment, I also thought of those bitter chocolate-covered jelly bananas (which I mainly dislike because of the artificial aroma). There is also a certain sweet note present that I have encountered in some gourmand perfumes, which is probably responsible for the sugary-caramel impression. However, it is not the fragrance ingredient used in Angel & Co - that smells different.
Soon, though, "Bananas Foster" becomes more conciliatory and gentle. The banana note now reminds me more of heated bananas or even dried bananas (no, not the hard chips! But the slightly chewy kind from the health food store, sometimes also coated in chocolate).
The combination of notes also makes me think of a dessert that I like to recommend when too many bananas have been bought and are about to spoil: halve the bananas in their skins lengthwise, sprinkle with a bit of sugar, add some small flakes of butter on top, place under the grill until caramel forms on top, and finish with a dusting of cinnamon before serving hot. Then serve with vanilla ice cream or vanilla yogurt...
Okay, this perfume doesn’t smell exactly like that, probably due to the flowers. The comparison mentioned in the statements with warm banana bread probably fits it a little better!
For people who do not want to smell like food, this perfume is certainly not for them. I am not one of those; I enjoy such scents at home as a "mood enhancer." However, I have other favorites here, and this one is not a "must-have" for me.
