New Favorite...
De Los Santos (Byredo) is my signature scent and You Doux is her more subtle little sister... like an EDT version of an EDP. The violet provides a soft, natural sweetness and the ambrox/ambrette base impart the signature Glossier musky drydown. But the Palo Santo and Frankincense in the mid? MAGIC. It takes me back to meditation & puja in India, ceremony in Perú, sacred sunrise prayers in Bali... honestly, so pretty and refined.

On a technical note, I appreciate that this doesn't go 'pickle' - I hate Santal 33 (and its many dupes) because of the pickle turn. It is definitely woody but stays as an incense/wood scent on my skin. Some reviews have said it reminds of Another 13 and I think that's a better comparison to the Le Labo line.

Definitely not a safe 'blind buy' - I don't think any of the You line are - because the ambrox really does affect how this smells on each person. My mom love OG You (it smells foul on me), my sister loves Rêve (cheap & plasticky to my nose), and I love Doux (mom described it as 'wood chips' lol). But they suit us all differently :)

An In-‘Doux’-Bitable Beauty
Did this one catch anyone else off guard? I’d be intrigued to hear because it definitely took me by surprise.

Of the newest releases from Glossier, I had higher hopes for You Rêve as compared to Doux, only because the note breakdown looked better to me. But while I was let down pretty greatly by Rêve, Doux was secretly seducing me in my journey with it. I started of testing these scents by selling decants of them, and with each decant I made of Doux, I became more and more interested in giving it a full wear test. And when I tell you that falling in love with this felt like taking a nose dive off of the tallest cliff? I couldn’t believe how incredible this scent was.

Doux is a woody, spicy, creamy rendition of the original you, with palo santo as the star of the show. I guess it is somewhat comparable to Santal 33 Eau de Parfum, but Doux is softer, easier, and cozier. Now, while it’s not the best performer (as are all the Yous), it imprints itself onto fabrics and clothing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been complimented on this and I even gave it to my boss for her to wear to a party (she’s not a big perfume wearer). It’s just effortless and light, perfect for daily use and definitely signature scent worthy.

You Doux, I’m so happy to have met you and I never want to let you go.

Sweet resinous warmth and comforting woody note
I was not expecting this as I'm more of a gourmand girl, but I prefered this one over You Rêve, although both are pretty lovely to wear.

For a very short moment, it smells like sweet and light florals in the opening. It doesn't take long before the middle notes take up the spotlight though. I get a beautiful sweet, resinous warmth with some soft, comfy woody notes. Never got any dill pickle smell, but my skin chemistry has never failed me on this, so I was pretty sure I'd be avoiding the dill pickle plague. I do get something close to pencil shavings somewhere in there, but it's not too strong and seems to waver as the perfume lives on. I love the woody creaminess as it's very soothing and comforting. There's a bit of spiciness and smokiness coming through, but nothing jarring or disturbing to the scent. It's a calm, clean, soft, subtle and delicate fragrance and could very well be loved by people who are starting their foray into woody fragrances. I do get a bit of a sharp, synthetic streak as the perfume dries down, but it's not as strong as in other perfumes I've smelled.

Overall it's a pretty lovely scent for calm moments and soothing times. It's got some clean, freshness in there that'll make you feel put-together without even trying. I wore it when I was sick and I have to say I really appreciated it during that time. I wasn't a fan of the slight pencil shaving accord and the synthetic streak, but the rest of the perfume did surprise me enough to go for a full bottle. I do have to say it's not a blind-buy and I recommend you try it out for yourself.

the best of the you sisters
i am not an og glossier you hater by any stretch. i enjoy it when i have a bottle kicking around and i'm always surprised by how much more i like it upon drydown, but doux is by far my favorite of the fragrance line (reve was shockingly mediocre to me, a gourmand lover, and fleur is in the mail, so we'll see if she conquers her older sister in my rankings). even as a stand-alone bottle in my collection, doux is both pleasantly unique and uncomplicated—soft, woodsy, extremely gender neutral. there is no major shift in the scent from first spray to several hours later, resulting in a linear, consistent fragrance experience. it's an easy, thoughtless reach for work and year-round daily wear when i want to smell sophisticated, clean, and approachable

Santal 33’s cozy counterpart
I am obsessed with this fragrance. I’ve seen it compared to Le Labo’s Santal 33 which makes sense since Frank VoeIkl worked on both. To me, it has that same santal vibe without the sharpness. It is so cozy and sweet, almost resinous, while being somewhat spicy and smoky. I’m not sure why, but it almost smells like a gourmand to me sometimes — very desserty. Imagine eating a warm fluffy pastry with incense burning. I love what Glossier has done with the You line and I find this to be the sophisticated sister of the bunch. Wear it to the office, on a night out, to bed, it’s a very versatile scent for those who like a somewhat unisex, woody fragrance.

Hyper-indolic palo santo, creamy ambrette, resinous myrrh. Too animalic for me, smelled like body odor.

I found this to be an aggressive and synthetic wood.

There’s not a lick of patchouli in this. It’s the OG You + a brine-y palo santo + resins. Not floral or sweet, just fresh & woody. Likeable.

Such a lovely, easy scent if you like palo santo or frankincense - which are my favorite so I do love her

Really gentle + cozy palo santo that’s kinda creamy but not too sweet. Projection isn’t great unless you’re spraying a lot.

I see this as more of a unisex scent. It’s a light, simple, creamy woody fragrance. It’s not a “wow”, it’s a “oh you smell nice”

A sweet, lightly woody scent. Smells so much like vanilla I was shocked that wasn’t listed in the notes.

Cozy palo santo smell. Poor longevity and projection though. Wish it lasted longer given the retail price.

Surprised by the ratings. I can’t stand this! To me this is just a bag of mixed cooking spices. Not a scent I want to wear as a perfume.
