A Quite Successful After Shave

With Tabac, one inevitably associates a shaving lotion. The After Shave version of Tabac Man Eau de Toilette pleases me quite well.

The top note offers a blend of fruit, herbs, and floral hints. I detect bergamot, orange, mandarin, lavender, and a green, leafy aroma. The heart note remains green-earthy with a touch of patchouli. I also sense geranium, cardamom, a woodiness, and a bit of coriander. The base is slightly resinous with notes of tonka beans and bourbon vanilla.

The longevity is okay for an "After Shave," but a significant sillage doesn't really develop here.

Forgotten a Christmas gift again?

Citrusy-orange-fresh start with plenty of lavender, and I mean the good, herbal kind. No sweet absolutes and also not the classic Caron vanilla note. This is followed by a warm and woody body, neither sawdusty nor vintage-oak-mossy. Definitely not a chypre style.

Round, soft, and beautifully masculine contoured thanks to unobtrusive geranium.
The base still consists of lavender and wood tones, but also a very subtle sweetness that you can hardly even call that.

Somehow, this aftershave simply demands to be presented without any accompanying story. Unpretentious and very pleasantly scented, while also quite caring after a thorough wet shave. What more could the practically oriented man want?

A really good gift tip for Christmas Eve when you're running late again and only a supermarket is still open. I speak from experience :)
