Dark, Spicy, and Cozy-Serious
Boemia feels like being in a fine 19th century era library, surrounded by aromatic carved wood balusters. I'm reading next to a warm, yellow lamp, comfortable in a worn, dark leather chair.

Some describe this as a "dark academic." It's spicy with black pepper & nutmeg, which hang around for a pleasingly long time.
When I first wore it, I was a little put off by the prickly sharpness of the black pepper opening. It's quite aggressive, despite a smooth nutmeg that joins it almost immediately. But the more I wore it, the more I liked it. I happen to love black pepper; I was simply unprepared for the prickly blast. Once I knew what to expect, it became a pleasure, especially once I began to anticipate how the rest of the wear would evolve.

On non-exposed skin, the spice notes do persist for the entire wear, but they eventually blend into the heart, which is a deep, spicy leather, like that cozy, classic armchair. A dry rose bobs in and out occasionally. Papery and leathery, its characteristics perfectly echo the 'aged armchair leather' note. I wish there was a little more of it, but I still liked this well enough.

As the fragrance dries down, the spicy leather collapses into sweet pipe tobacco surrounded by woods. I could almost catch a vanilla note, though it's not in the official list.

BOEMIA
Received a sample of this in a Liberty Beauty Box. Pleasantly surprised to find the fragrance pyramid did not meet my usual preference for floral nose. However, this fragrance is intoxicating and definitely on my to buy list. I must learn to open up to other options and get my nose out the flowers.

Spice, wood, musk
This was one of my favourites from the house and doesn’t remind me of anything else, which is probably why it appeals to this jaded nose.

I really like the peppery woody profile. Faint leather. It’s more mature if that can be a thing in a scent. Profile is nice, but just too light, almost more like a clean musk after it dries down. Wish it lasted a bit longer.

Spicy, warm, and retro-cult
Since the Brazilian brand Granado from Rio is completely unreviewed here on Parfumo, I will make every effort as the first reviewer.

I became aware of "Boemia | Granado" through a fashion influencer.
Although I do not let myself be influenced stylistically or olfactorily and follow my own path, I enjoy googling or researching new impressions.

I was curious about the combination of the top notes of lime, black pepper, and nutmeg.
I imagined the lime to be unsweetened by the black pepper, while being somewhat spicy due to the nutmeg.
How would rose, leather, and incense mix in?

Therefore, I set out on the internet to find a bottle, not because of the influencer.
The standard price of the perfume is probably around €120.
On eBay, I was able to win a 75ml bottle for €75 through a private purchase. Quite reasonable for a blind buy.

From that point on, I eagerly awaited the arrival of my package.
I opened it immediately and sprayed myself.

First of all, my nose detected a certain alcoholic note, which, however, dissipated after a few seconds.
In fact, I had assessed the scent well beforehand.
What surprised me was its warmth.
Spicy warm is probably the most fitting description for "Boemia | Granado".

The scent begins, as mentioned, very warm, almost sweet, without actually being so.
The nutmeg and pepper awakened in me the association with a spice broth.
Whole peppercorns heated in a pan - anyone who knows how that smells will understand what I mean. The pepper becomes softer and more balsamic - blending (in my thought process) with various aromas.
Here, the scent remains relatively straightforward.
Certainly, it could have been made more refined, perhaps with chili/cinnamon/cardamom.

As time goes on (15-30 minutes, depending on perception), the scent becomes a bit darker. The pepper becomes sharper and the lime more citrusy and zesty.
Incense and cedar join in and gradually dictate the tone.
Leather and sandalwood ultimately underpin the scent.
In the drydown, a dry rose remains, which I generally like.

Alongside the spice association, I intuitively thought, "My father could wear this scent too."
It is not an old man’s fragrance, even though I consider it unsuitable for those under 21.

Since I wanted to learn more about the Granado brand, I often went on a research spree.
Interestingly, "Boemia | Granado" is listed on the website in the "Vintage" line.
I had to smile, as the 80's impression was probably not entirely wrong.
If I had to describe the scent in colors, I would choose orange-olive green. Due to the mentioned warmth and spiciness.

Now for the performance and overall summary:
Since my surroundings are used to me wearing various scents, I am not often approached about perfumes in my circles.
Rather, my people simply think something like "Sunshine boy is wearing something new again." Because I am not a compliment getter, I also do not ask my surroundings for their opinion, as a perfume must only please me to wear it.
Therefore, it is difficult to say something about the sillage.
I estimate it to be not too strong, whereas the longevity of over 12 hours is extremely satisfactory for the money I paid.
The bottle is solid, nothing groundbreaking.

The conclusion is that I am completely satisfied.
Whether I would have consciously taken the scent in a perfumery for €120, I will leave open at this point.
If Boemia were not from 2020, I could imagine that the perfume could have been a bestseller in past decades.
Since the scent evokes those retro vibes, I rate the scent itself slightly higher than it actually smells.

Warm, spicy, and substantial
Also here it applies: I am not the most talented writer, so please read the following as what it is - a personal review, not a fragrance poem.

I was already familiar with the name Granado before my trip to Brazil and was curious whether the fragrances lived up to their reputation. In March 2026, I finally had the chance to leisurely try them out in the Granado stores in Brazil. Boemia impressed me the most and ultimately came home with me.

About the scent itself:
Boemia starts quite directly with black pepper. Not aggressive, but present. The lime adds freshness, while the nutmeg contributes a warm spiciness. Overall, a spicy, distinctive opening that immediately makes it clear: This is not a tame everyday fragrance.

In the heart, there are cedar, geranium, and incense. The cedar gives the fragrance structure, the geranium a bitter-floral note that I rarely perceive in leather-tobacco scents - I found that interesting and sets Boemia apart from similar fragrances for me. The incense is more smoky than church-like.

The base with leather, tobacco, and sandalwood is exactly what you would expect - warm, rich, a bit retro. But not musty or old-fashioned. Granado describes the fragrance itself as “vintage,” and that fits well: It feels like a modern interpretation of classic barbershop elegance.

Performance: This is Boemia's great strength. On my skin, it lasts easily 8-9 hours, with the last hours as a pleasant skin aura. The sillage is really good in the first two hours, then more moderate. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here.

Comparisons: Those who know By the Fireplace by Margiela or Bvlgari Man in Black will find a drier, spicier relative here. Less sweet, more substance. The comparison to Naxos suggested by Parfumo only partially holds for me - Boemia is significantly less sweet and gourmand, but more leathery-smoky.

Conclusion: For me, the strongest fragrance I have tested at Granado. Classically masculine without being exclusively male. Ideal for autumn and winter, but wearable year-round on cool evenings. Those who enjoy spice, leather, and tobacco will be very happy here.
