Berrybomb

This is very clearly inspired by Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb. I will always have a soft spot for Flowerbomb and all its cousins, it was one of the perfumes that really impressed me when it came out and brought me to this hobby. Hard to imagine nowadays, but back then there we didn't have many scents in that style.

So, if you never smelled Flowerbomb for some reason, I'd say it's a sweet vanillic patchouli scent with an overlay of white florals and bergamot. A prototype for all the gourmand patchoulis that came in the 2010s, if you will. Hanae takes that concept and adds berries on top. Sweet, cutesy strawberries and sparkling black currants similar to a currant spritzer. I like that!

Unfortunately the drydown has a little less depth and warmth than many similar scents. It feels a little thin after a few hours, there should be more vanilla and toffee to boost the base. It's not bad at all, I just think this concept can be done better. Maybe it's perfect for those who prefer their sweet patchouli scents to lean a bit more fruity-floral than gourmand, but not for me.
