A nightmare comes to life
we all know it:
Scents that accompany us since early childhood and years later feelings of familiarity, well-being up to goose bumps can trigger. The spectrum ranges from dreamlike memories to gruesome associations. For me, Un Jardin sur le Nil definitely causes the latter!
The reason? I worked in an office at a clinic when I was a student. The doctor's assistants hung out in the adjoining room. One of the ladies wrapped herself from top to bottom with about 10 spritzes of this scent every day and kept putting it on throughout the day. At one point, all of the female colleagues in the office were so disgusted with this scent that it was almost vomit-inducing. It didn't help, of course, that said colleague was now let's say very complex to deal with.....She was so exhausting - just like the fragrance!
today I had received the fragrance as a sample and thought to myself "come the colleague is no longer there for almost 1 year and you have not smelled the fragrance for a long time- give him a chance."
But Holy Moly the association with her is so strong- there's no escaping it!
But even with a lot of focus on developing the scent on my skin, I find it super boring and not saying anything. It's very linear and green on me.
Sorry Hermès- we 2 this will nothing!

So delicious, I am crying.
Lost Cherry opens with such a fruity cherry, you want to kneel down.
The toasted almond quickly joins in and gives the fragrance more depth.
The subtle woods & a hint of vanilla round out this perfection of a cherry liqueur.
I continue...

Duchess Rose, the wicked temptress
and that's what she really is. On the present of the distinguished society she seems feminine, mysterious and almost shy.
What no one knows: she is calculating and frivolous. Like a spider that carefully and slowly spans her web,...
