Coeurs Sombres
Dark Hearts. This is the name of the series by Ikiryo consisting of three perfumes that focus on the scent note of vanilla. There is a unisex fragrance called "Magie Sexualle," a women's fragrance named "Succubus," and a men's fragrance called "Incubus."

For each of the three perfumes, there is a beautiful photo storybook with the corresponding tale. The story of Incubus revolves around a woman who cannot sleep at night because she mourns an unhappy love. Subsequently, she tries to revive this love with the help of a love spell. With catastrophic consequences. She accidentally summons an Incubus, who then haunts her every night in her sleep and even impregnates her. Ultimately, she gives birth to the child but is shortly thereafter killed by the hybrid beings. A very dramatic ending to the fictional story. The scent is also dramatic!

The Scent
Incubus is, like its namesake, a very potent "guest." The fragrance has immense longevity and sillage lasting several hours and arm's lengths. Incubus begins its haunting with a musky Cashmeran cloud, which gradually blends with maple. Here, it is not the wood or leaf that is meant, but maple syrup. Best described as spicy-sweet, which is further intensified by the clove. Vanilla runs through the scent with strong vibrations of molten caramel. Resinous tones from benzoin and a balsamic-creamy copaiba give Incubus an almost viscous yet still smooth note. But Incubus also has a hidden medicinal-bitter accord. A secret that is not listed here. It is the scent of the Schisandra berry, also known as Chinese five-flavor fruit. An ancient herbal remedy from Japan and China. This remedy is used for various ailments. It works for physical and mental issues such as sleep disorders, depression, strong heart palpitations, and is considered a sexual stimulant for both men and women in Asia. The scent of the Schisandra berry is best compared to juniper berries when bitten into. Medicinal-bitter and sharp. And it is precisely this accord that prevents the fragrance from drifting into overly sweet territory.

Conclusion
Incubus is an unusual, exotic gourmand fragrance for a man. It does require a bit of courage to wear it, as one inevitably stands out. As mentioned at the beginning, it has incredible longevity and sillage. By the way, Incubus is also very well worn by women. However, I still recommend Succubus to the ladies, which represents the female counterpart and also contains a sexual stimulant. It features the scent of pitaya, also known as dragon fruit. It also smells extremely sexy!

As I learned personally from Vincent Dreamhouse, samples of his fragrances are currently on their way to a perfumery in Germany.
So it could be that his fragrances will be available here with us in the near future. Which I would very much welcome!

The synthetic aids stay in the background, Kopaiba balsam comes through clearly, the rest doesn’t reveal itself to me directly.

The fruity-woody note might come from Cashmeran, which is present in a high dose. Powdery-sweet base, concentrated fruit, urinous.

This fragrance contains Schisandra (Chinese Schisandra). A sexual enhancer. An Incubus knows how to do it! Curious?
