Sweet gourmand-floral, very strong
Chocognac by Ikiryo Perfumes, an independent perfume house that’s made a recent comeback with several new releases, including this mix that smells of the eponymous chocolate and cognac with a healthy dose of ylang ylang. It’s indulgently sweet and boozy, but also quite floral, and therefore slightly feminine, a sort of gourmand floral that’s a very intense experience. There’s nothing subtle about this except the blend, which counterbalances the sweet with the sharp white floral in an effective way. I’d say it’s about 60-70% gourmand, 30-40% floral overall.
Bottles are sold out on Perfumology’s website but the pricing may be $125 for 50ml, and I’m unsure of the concentration, but it is very strong and dense stuff, with a decent amount of oil, so it’s probably a good 30%+ concentration if I had to guess.
Some Ikriyo fragrances are sold exclusively at Perfumology as far as boutiques, but the website seems to be a sale point for some of their fragrances.
I’d recommend checking this scent out—I’ve a couple of other Ikiryo samples that I’m looking forward to trying, as well.
