Blue Curacao and memories I'm not so proud of.
If I had my first encounter with a Blue Curacao cocktail on an exotic beach, lazing at sunset with my feet in the water, we would be discussing this fragrance in different terms today.

But things were a bit different: the troubled 90s in post-communist Romania, adolescence, newly acquired freedom, age-specific rebelliousness or, rather, complete stupidity. In our muddled minds, we were all high-class intellectuals, Emil Cioran's "On the Heights of Despair" was by far the most trafficked (not necessarily read, though :D) book, we were into jazz, blues and heavy metal and we considered ourselves far too special to waste half a day in a mundane classroom. Sooner or later (usually sooner), we'd sneak around the high school walls and head off to "our" bar.

Well, skipping school and drinking soda would have been cool, but not cool enough. The beer seemed too bitter, the wine too sour, the vodka too tasteless. Luckily, we had discovered some brightly colored, sweet, synthetic, low-end liqueurs. The most memorable and bluest of them all was, of course, curacao liqueur. We used to forget about everything in the pub, downing one glass after another, singing at the top of our lungs and philosophizing about life and death, going from euphoria to depression and back. High school, cemetery of my youth!...

Objectively speaking, the fragrance is not bad at all. It smells exactly like Blue Curacao and a bit like salty breeze. For the right person, it could be a midsummer night's dream. But to me, it tastes like teenage hangovers. And, honestly, just by smelling it, my liver hurts. :))

Curaçao Bay - Theme Achieved
My latest acquisition alongside Pacific Rock Moss by Goldfield & Banks. Full power for summer, even though it hasn't really come through for many days now, there will still be days when you can wear this. I've been watching Curaçao Bay for a while. I love tropical scents with exotic notes like Virgin Island Water by Creed or First Instinct by A&F. These tropical notes are just a great alternative to the seemingly millions of citrus bore-fests. I do enjoy wearing them occasionally, but very few in this direction truly blow me away. I find aquatic and tropical scents to be significantly more exotic and exciting. Especially since you get a mix of both here.

I purchased 50ml for around 80 euros. A fair price for niche compared to other brands. Those who use it often or want it as a signature scent can also buy the 200ml bottle. This costs under 200 euros. For me, this type of fragrance is rather unsuitable for daily use. You receive this scent in a beautiful box, and the bottle is very attractive as well. The Fath's Essentials line has several fragrances, and here you get a blue scent that fits the theme. Curacao is a paradise island with beautiful beaches and bays. Unfortunately, traveling there is, of course, utopically expensive.
A scent with this theme draws me in like a magnet, and I can say: theme achieved. In this fragrance, tropical fruit notes combine with salty aquatic and beautiful frangipani. The opening is really very polarizing, strong, and very exotic. Individual notes are hard to identify, but it feels like a mix of a coconut-like note, some fruits, and frangipani. Very summery, exotic, and simply a beautiful good-mood summer mix. Aquatic notes are also noticeable here, which become more pronounced after about 2-3 hours. The maritime notes come with a lot of sea salt. Not everyone likes it; I, as an aquatic fan, love it. A very authentic aquatic summer feeling. It settles gently and accompanies the wearer very pleasantly. After a few hours, it softly fades into a woody-salty finish. Very successful from start to finish. It simply lifts your spirits on warm to hot days.
Performance is also quite good. Especially in the first hours, it has a very strong sillage. Longevity is likely just over 6 hours.
For me, it's almost exclusively a casual daytime scent. Too tropical for the office or similar settings. Perfect for the ice cream parlor or similar summer activities. The scent is also rightly classified as unisex. The first hours are somewhat unusual and unique for men, but especially the salty aquatic makes it wearable. It would also suit women well.

In conclusion, I can say: a scent that won't appeal to everyone, but it certainly doesn't get lost in the crowd. Those who value uniqueness might find what they're looking for here. I love it because it simply spreads good vibes.

(My personal opinion -) The definition of a fragrance that brings vacation home!
Hello everyone,

In line with the season, I recently discussed the topic of "vacation scents - those that bring you closer to that unique vibe" with friends.

This will be a short review ;) !

This special vacation vibe and the mix of marine notes, frangipani, citrus notes, and the wonderful creamy musk..., and the winner is "Fath's Essentials - Curaçao Bay | Jacques Fath" !

And it is truly UNISEX and suitable for all ages!
Try it on and YOU will see that a certain vacation vibe is present!

Yes, it has its price, I know, and I don't want to downplay that, but it is mega authentic and probably a little work of art, and such works have their price!

And in my opinion, a real insider tip, because when I see how few people have this scent here, then you can really say "INSIDER TIP".

If I weren't truly convinced, I wouldn't recommend it to you!

Wishing you a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

Sun, Beach, Palm Trees, Party...
these are the images that this fragrance from the house of Fath evokes in me. Consequently, we are dealing with a true feel-good scent that captivated me from the very first sniff. I have rarely tested a fragrance that manages to convey this authentic "I am on the beach in the Caribbean" feeling as effectively as this one does. I must confess, I have not been there yet, but this is exactly how I imagine a tropical paradise!

It smells - even though not listed here - quite strongly of coconut and other exotic fruits. The fragrance has a rather creamy-milky quality, which may give the impression of sweetened coconut milk. However, the sweetness is very subtle. I think amber and musk contribute to creating this impression. Otherwise, it is difficult to pick out the individual components, but it remains clear that slightly marine notes emerge over time; however, the fragrance does not become a true aquatic. I would say a light salty sea breeze can be sensed in the distance. Therefore, I would conclude in my classification that it is a fruity-sweet-creamy scent that can be worn very well unisex. I also often think of sunscreen while wearing it.

If I had to draw a picture of what I smell, I would depict myself, slathered in sunscreen, sitting under palm trees on a Caribbean beach. In my right hand, an opened coconut that I am sipping from with delight. In the background, there is a beach bar - built from tropical wood - from which Caribbean music is playing. Cocktails are being sipped, and the good life is being celebrated.

The whole summer dream lasts a good 7-8 hours on me and is also well perceivable in the surroundings. Moreover, it seems equally suitable for both men and women. I find it very flattering on myself, as the subtle woody accords lean it towards a masculine direction.

The price-performance ratio is also quite reasonable for a niche fragrance; 50ml costs 85 euros at "Aus Liebe zum Duft," which I consider quite affordable given the quality offered.

So, anyone looking for an authentic summer feel-good scent with a Caribbean flair could find it here!

[By the way, I don't find it synthetic at all!]

Is the vacation in a bottle here?
Curaçao Bay really appeals to me.
This scent is fresh, pleasantly aquatic and citrusy, with a hint of sweetness. It manages to take me mentally a bit on vacation. A warm summer holiday at the beach.

Admittedly, I had known the scent for a while, but somehow never tested or took it seriously. What a shame, because it really is a blast!

The scent starts off fresh, aquatic/maritime, and pleasantly citrusy for me. The citrus elements are also slightly fruity. Occasionally, I got the faintest gum vibes during this phase. Not the typical gum, but a very refreshing one. Additionally, I sometimes felt like I was catching a whiff of coconut.

Over time, a bit of black currant joins in. The fresh gum associations are now gone for me. Towards the end, a super pleasant clean musk comes in.

Simply put, it's a really great scent that reminds me of vacations and mentally takes me to new holidays.
Especially since I haven't had the chance to go on vacation this year, something like this is really wonderful!

Prominent frangipani and citrus next to ambergris and marine notes for a sweet, floral and feminine tropical vibe. A bit cloying.

Lemondrops, ocean and milky ambergris/musk. Some will likely really enjoy it, but it doesn’t work on me.

Started off well but the dry down is heavily dominated by the tangerine making it completely unwearable. Nauseating, overpowering, vile….

Edit. It smells good on men’s skin. It’s too “vanilla” on women’s:)

Barely marine, more salty-creamy a la YSL's Capeline, less vanillic and cloying. Quite refreshing and unisex nonetheless. Pretty nice!

Maritime scents often risk becoming cloying. This one doesn't! Ocean freshness and sunscreen + azure blue sky. Easy to wear.
