"Velours Boise" by Jacques Fath is a true fall scent. Fireplace. Foliage. Shave. Barbershop. Smoke. Whiskey. Whisky. Whisky. Dark wood.
A real old-man scent - but modern and cracking and completely positive, high-quality interpretation. Strong character and charming, despite gruff nature. As if one had filled liquid, silky patchouli in a very gloomy whiskey barrel already washed through many times. Light, pre-Christmas spiciness here, but it quickly mellows. Patch also fades away eventually. What's left is a malty bourbon - just completely without that alcoholic sting that some entry-level drinkers can't get over. "Velours Boise" is a pirate of the transitional seasons, enjoying its retirement and winding down the evening with its '69 wife, sizzling, old-fashioned and warm.
Verdict: a tipsy wooden barrel of coziness and hippiedom. Unusual and not everybodys darling. Good so
