Cedrat Boise smells like quality, but...

Cedrat Boise smells like quality, but there’s something in there I find unpleasant. I like the notes listed, most of them: bergamot, lemon, I love black currant, and I don’t have a problem with jasmine, patchouli, sandalwood, cedar, leather, moss, musk (unless overdone), or vanilla (unless overdone), so I don’t know what is so harsh and offensive to my nose except it must be one (or more) of the spices in the “spicy notes” accord. As I said, it smells like quality, but will never be a personal favorite. Aoud Black Candy also smelled like quality, but not a favorite because of that amber, which I can only tolerate in small doses. Definitely a “try before you buy” fragrance.

Aventus' Fruity Cousin

An absolutely stunning release from the Mancera house. Garnered through the roof with compliments. Only sky is a limit. A real hidden jewel.
Although named cedrat, the citruses are not the main players. Pale citruses, spice and realistic Godzilla-sized black current on the black leather glove. It sounds unbearable, but in fact it is fruity-leathery perfection. Oriental jasmine gives flowery kick. The base is made of full blooded cedar with sandalwood and vanilla.
A gorgeous unisex fragrance. One of the most beautiful gifts from Orient I have ever encountered. The smell of dolce vita in the old Lebanon. Addictive as its scentrack is.

Not a typical summer fragrance

Tho this is one of my fav summer fragrances, not like those aquatic salty boring repetitive perfumes, it's smoky fruity one and i'm in love with it, it performs like a beast indeed, it projects very well, silage is enormous too, this is a hit from Mancera, also it's a very high quality Creed Aventus clone, but try before you buy, it's not a safe blind buy at all

Beyond the First Spray - A Look at Cedrat Boise

Fresh&Fruity

I was finally able to get my hands on this beauty. Unfortunately, my batch is a newer one, 2022 and I am going to share a few words about how these newer batches are working on my skin. At first, an explosion of fresh&fruity smell takes over. That touch of smokiness is still around. Not that much that it bothers you. It will hang around for a while especially in the first 2 hours. As it settles on the skin, the aventus vibes are starting to come into your senses and the resemblance is getting more obvious. Aventus still remains a bit more bitter, sharper, while cedrat is more fruity and creamy.
There is a certain simlarity between the 2 titans but also some differences. I can now see why cedrat is so easy to appreciate and also being so refreshing and fruity, will give the wearer a nice refreshing vibe. On my skin cedrat remains on the same road and keeps the fruity fresh vibe until it leaves. I can say that I really enjoy it and will definitely suit most of the occasions and temperatures.
The only thing I would have added, just a tiny bit more projection but even so, it's not that weak as some people have claimed.
The sprayer works great (pressurised atomizor with
a strong magnetic cap).
Compliments will easily come if that's what you are looking for.
The longevity went to aprox 8 hours (give or take) with a decent projection (not too weak, not too strong), but noticeable.
I am pleased with the performance and I will sure start to wear it more and more in time. If you like Aventus but want an easier to appreciate version of it, you can consider cedrat boisee an option.
As always, try before you buy.

In the opening, blackcurrant and lemon. Invigorating fresh and woody scent, fruity with a leathery, musky base. The performance is good.

This scent is really overhyped. Smells like a lemon pie with some vanilla and a clear woody note, however nothing special with this fragrance.

Lemony blast that settles down into something deeper. I get the Aventus similarity, but still comes across unique. Hype may bit overblown.

Bad performance on my skin. Longevity is poor. Nice lemon opening dries down to a camp fire smoke lingering on clothes smell. 2022 batch.

This is really good, but very different from aventus!
Its leathery citrus with a spicy punch in the oppening and it smoothes down on the dry

Opens fruity-musky, dries mossy-smoky. Noticeably less synthetic than a lot of Manceras. Solid performance, elite value proposition.

Mancera Cedrat Boise performance issue 2024 batch

I don't think oxidation will do much. Maybe you should try finding an older batch if you like the scent so much, or try "Intense Cedrat Boise | Mancera".
