Etoffes de Parfum - Soie Sage Jardin de France 2011

A remake of a remake. If "Flower" by Kenzo is a remake of the famous "Royal Bain de Champagne" by Caron, then we are dealing here with a copy of "Flower." "Soie Sage" is light, contains a bit of mimosa and melon on a very powdery background (marked by heliotropin). Unlike "Flower," "Soie Sage" also has a touch of muted Thai rice. The name of the fragrance is nice: without the "e," it would translate to "Be good" ("Soi sage!"), with the "e" the perfume means "Gentle Silk" in German. It is a scent from the "Fabric Series" by Jardin de France, the other fabrics or materials featured in the perfumes are tweed, leather, and lace. The silk scent is indeed very good and soft; I find it extremely unremarkable, but not unpleasant.

Nice wordplay in the name. For those not familiar with French: Soie Sage = (the) good silk. Sois Sage = Be good (!). Both are pronounced the same.

Those who enjoy powdery, caressing scents might want to give this fragrance a try. I don't know if it is "good," but I find it very elegant; after the slightly sparkling opening, I perceive the rose delicately, which I really like and makes it feel all the more tender and feminine to me. The powdery aspect is relatively not sweet, which contributes to its elegance. I really like this perfume.

Since I'm also testing Teint de Neige, I compared the two. The dry effect of Teint de Neige, which almost crumbles your nasal mucous membranes, is completely absent in Soie Sage. This silk is warm and gentle, whereas Teint de Neige is cold and creaky loud, which is usually untypical for snow, unless it crashes down like an avalanche from a roof or mountain... cough.

The longevity is good, and with the price of Soie Sage, you won't get cold feet.

Right after spraying, pepper tickles my nose, but only for a very short time.
After that, a powdery scent spreads with white flowers, a somehow overly familiar impression...

Parfumo switched on. Yes, of course! The Japanese fragrance twin is the key to the riddle.

A fine - vanillic sweetness joins in a bit later, which gradually intensifies at the expense of the powder.
A delicately sweet creaminess develops.

A gentle, beautiful, harmonious perfume. Quite a bit quieter than the Japanese version, but similarly long-lasting.
