Morilla”s absolute masterpiece!

Morillas' first innovative formula, used in Gucci Guilty Absolute, revitalized with a dreamy jasmine and warm spices.
From my point of view, Gucci Guilty Absolute was an experiment for Morillas, and an extremely successful one!
As the master is extremely perfectionist in his ideas, I consider Dark Lord to be the perfection for the basic idea started from GGA. Morillas reached the absolute in perfumery with this creation! It remains one of my signatures! An absolute masterpiece!

Yummy but not so rummy

Looking at the notes I was really surprised to see rum in there. A By Kilian isn’t finished until some form of booze is added I guess. Well I don’t get any of that.

What I do get is this animalic leathery scent in the first couple of hours. It’s quite heavy, anyone who’s ever smelled Gucci Guilty Absolute knows the horse-stable smell I’m talking about. It’s nicely combined with peppery spices, taking the edge off a little bit.

After an hour or two it slowly starts to reveal woody notes. Images of pencil shavings come to mind and I absolutely love that. And things evolve even further, getting a bit more airy, lighter, the vetiver takes control.

The animalic nature of the fragrance makes it hard to pull off in formal occasions. But it’s an absolute pleasure for the nose.

Vampires and Sith Lords

This is truly niche in the sense that this is hard to pull off...or rather requires a specific vibe to pull off correctly. You must embrace the aggressive & polarizing nature of this perfume and not care what people think you smell like. Those around you will be challenged or sometimes offended if they catch a whiff and the wearer must take glee in this. It is not bad, especially in the opening/mid it is a nice Jasmine, spicey, leather blend. It takes the wearer to a dark place of indifference, nihilism, but holds a unique power of individuality. Bitter dark leather is the dry-down. The wearer stands alone.

This Perfume is so incredibly hot

That's all I can say. From the moment I first smelled it, I was OBSESSED with it. It lingers in your nose so nicely, it's so smoky, (a bit like cognac but in a nasty way?) and leathery, but with a wonderful light floral touch.
The Longevity is phenomenal, one spray and I'm good for a whole evening.
Strong sillage: People will know that you're there.
It's a pricy bad boy, but in the best way possible. I love it.

Tried Dark Lord? Leave your own comments!

Dark Lord opens up with a fairly dense and intense aroma. Bergamot gives it a bit of bright citrus up top, but this is offset by peppery and smoky rum, and a rather dirty-ish leather that permeates through the entire wear.

The booziness of the rum is there, but it isn’t a completely soaked feeling during the wear.

Jasmine, however, may be the strongest player in the opening stage of Dark Lord. It sits right in the middle flanked by the other notes, giving Dark Lord an early floral scent.

For me, the spiciness, is really only in the opening act. From there, it takes on an earthier and woodier quality for the rest of the wear. Kilian says that the pepper is one of the key notes, but on my skin at least, that’s not the case.

In fact, I get a lot more vetiver, cedar, and other general woods than I ever do the pepper.

As we move forward, the jasmine will start to lose its position within the composition. The leather and vetiver become pretty strong here and I’m still getting the smokiness sans the spice.

Dark, earthy, and has an herbal or medicinal sort of finish to it.

The latter stage is leather, cypress, vetiver and the faded remnants of cedar and jasmine. Cypress really climbs the ladder and contributes towards the tail end. It really doesn’t do all that much for me early in the wear, then, it’s basically the same weighting as the leather.
