Sundays at Brunch...
That's just so typical... I write many comments about Jo Malone fragrances over the years and occasionally see the brand Jo Loves here, and I think nothing of it, as I simply assume it's just another fragrance brand.
Only recently did I learn that Jo Loves is a second fragrance line from Jo Malone, with scents personally developed by Jo Malone herself, sometimes taking several years to complete a fragrance exactly as she wants it.
Tsss... no one ever tells me anything... shame on you! All of you! :D
So, thanks to a nice perfume here, I can now test some of the scents from this fragrance line. And I start with Green Orange & Coriander (hoping that the coriander doesn't smell like it usually does for me…).
Just a few minutes later, the black pepper also comes through quite well, but it's not so intense that it would smell sharp. The scent, with the bitter and spicy notes combined with the orange, feels both fresh and warm.
Although shortly after, the pepper and the herbs take over the fresh notes, the orange pops up every now and then, smiling at you :)
Towards the base, oak moss is added, which blends well with the existing fragrance notes, making it not too classic or mature. A slight sweetness also appears, but it's hard to tell if this comes from the tonka bean. Otherwise, it remains slightly citrusy, and mainly spicy and bitter (with light green scents), with the pepper still being the most prominent note.
The longevity is quite good, lasting over eight or nine hours.
Okay, first of all: the coriander hasn't turned me off here. So, lucky me :D
Seriously, the scent has turned out quite nice despite its simple appearance. Orange, coriander, and pepper, along with a little oak moss, make for a fragrance that would be great to wear in spring.
As mentioned, the coriander doesn't disturb here and smells more like a collection of kitchen herbs, as it feels like several herbs are at play. It reminds me of sitting comfortably at a table with acquaintances and friends on a Sunday to brunch together (only to later be stuffed, half sleepy and half dazed, lounging in a corner almost motionless... :D).
By the way, some of the inspirations for this scent actually came from Jo Malone's memories of Sunday brunches.
So, the beginning of this fragrance line has started off very well, and I hope that the other scents smell just as wonderful. It's definitely highly recommended to give it a try!

The Scent:
Oh, the zesty orange is really delicious at the beginning; it's very nice and smells refreshing. Then, bitter and herbal notes come in, where you can recognize the coriander, but the scent still feels like there are other, indeterminate herbs in it. Just a few minutes later, the black pepper also comes through quite well, but it's not so intense that it would smell sharp. The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite okay, but I find it only strong at the beginning, as the average ratings here suggest. Because a bit later, the intensity is rather above average. You certainly don't leave a large scent cloud, but it does leave a small scent trail that is still somewhat detectable at medium distance. The longevity is quite good, lasting over eight or nine hours.
The Bottle:
At first glance, the bottle resembles the usual Jo Malone bottles but is more angular. On the front, there is a large white label with the name of the fragrance. Additionally, there is a red dot (as on every Jo Loves fragrance), which according to the description is Jo Malone's personal signature that she uses for these scents. The cap is cylindrical and black. It's quite okay. Okay, first of all: the coriander hasn't turned me off here. So, lucky me :D
