Soul yes, mate no.
All travel size fragrances of "Joya" I ordered on good luck, after I had looked at the reviews to be found about the brand (perfumes, candles and what else can not be so scented, you can find here - devastating price range). More detailed experience reports, however, I found only to other fragrance creations - 'Ames Soeurs' was nowhere mentioned, let alone reviewed. Only the background story was displayed to me about this fragrance: a homage to a book about the time-honored essential oils that were used in Cleopatra's (... was it the lady? I don't remember.) time. The author treated herself to these very same Joya candles mentioned to find her muse for her work. The perfume was apparently the answer of the concept store from New York to her book.

"Never mind.", I thought, "Will be fine." and all the fragrances of Joya ended up in the shopping cart and eventually at my home. Did it also 90%: both 'Foxglove', as well as all 'Composition XY' fragrances were a flop for me. Sounded all interesting and original, but all of them were in the end TOO normal and yet TOO strange.

ALTHOUGH... i sniffed then at 'Ames Soeurs - Scent of Soul Mates'. Not quite convinced of the citrus cleaner scent in combination with the bitter (tamarind?) Note I rolled the pen with the fragrance oil on my wrist. IMMEDIATELY, it had gotten to me. The grapefruit, which was so unconvincing before, suddenly smelled fresh - without being citrusy, fruity or sour. Can only be due to the tamarind, which together with the cypress creates a slightly spicy-tart background. Then later (except that the fresh grapefruit disappears, the fragrance remains namely quite linear) one smells possibly - not sharp, but mild - ginger and a little rose, but in no way floral.

From the base I have never noticed anything. Possibly the musk does his work throughout - the fragrance "melts" namely wonderful with my skin. At the beginning in the positive sense, however, he melts so also there - after the fragrance now already no sillage sondergleichen brings with it (Can that possibly also simply be due to the roll-on system? Seems to me too punctual and not 'area-covering' enough to be. The fragrance 'oil', mind you, doesn't reach textiles, or hair, which as we all know is a wonderful scent carrier. By the way, since it is an oil, I had also hoped for a long shelf life. Pustekuchen. Are anyway no essential oils.), he makes himself also immediately again on the socks. So he leaves me standing, my soulmate.

Even if only a short-lived pleasure: I do not get enough of the fragrance. Fresh-clean and aromatic-mild. Declared unisex fragrance with feminine impact, suitable for ALWAYS (at least for me - some people from my immediate environment criticized the fragrance with above-described, first impression at a nose directly from the bottle).

I fervently wish that Joya would release a version of 'Ames Soeurs - Soulmates' in atomizer without much tam tam. There was a limited edition version of the perfume, in a handmade porcelain pot, adorned with so-and-so carat gold, but also only with dabber - by the way, only for a measly $500.
Small UPDATE: through my research on the fragrances Jo Malone has created for Zara, I came across the perfume "Ebony Wood". This may be a good (and fairly inexpensive) alternative. It lasts just as short as Joya's and is not as tangy and elegant due to its woody note.
