Dark soil and smooth stone
I bought this perfume because I wanted to try something that uses real oud, and this has turned out to be a beautiful example that highlights that note while building an interesting composition around it. I definitely get oud, vetiver, and a hint of woods, and it has a very smooth, deep feeling to it. The oud is medicinal and slightly reminiscent of gasoline, particularly in the opening where it is loudest. The vetiver is dry and dirty. The combination of these elements creates a mineralic, natural feeling, almost like petrichor or wet stone. I don't get anything particularly animalic in this, as the brand's description suggests, but there is something here that reminds me of truffles, lending some warmth. I also get the dry earthy feel of orris root, although it's not in this fragrance. While complex on its own, I think this would layer well with other fragrances to bring out a woody element.
