Floriental that strikes the balance between light and dense
Rêve Ottoman opens with a fizzy green champagne-like rose similar to Dom Rosa, which quickly makes way for the oriental notes - I'd say the main player here is cypriol rather than saffron or sandalwood. The rose-cypriol combo gives a bit of a Promise Parfum/Oud Aquilaria vibe. The saffron takes on a cumin-y tinge that was noted by the only other review as of the time of this writing, making it similar to Safran Royal. But despite all my comparisons, this is a unique fragrance, setting itself apart from Promise with the replacement of the apple accord with that fizzy champagne. A really nice take on the floriental genre; probably not full bottle worthy for me as it's one of my least favorite fragrance genres, but I can see this being the perfect fragrance for someone who is looking for the perfect balance between light and dense.
At $160 retail, Rêve Ottoman gives heavy hitters in the ~$300 a run for their money. Great value for money.
