Into the blue / David Hockney / Summer freshness but flirty
In the beautiful little bottle, which you can easily slip into your handbag, a fresh-sunny lemon unfolds after spraying, reminiscent of finely sweetened homemade lemonade, far from any cleaning product connotations. It is accompanied by a very gentle aquatic note, together this top note feels like a fresh-warm summer breeze. The aquatic aspect evokes less associations with the sea than - fittingly to the name - with brightly turquoise pools in California, fluttering white tunics, and bikinis in vibrant colors.
Then the iris comes through, along with probably the anemone and the lotus leaf, leading to a gentle, well-groomed cream scent that has soapy undertones and slightly reminds one of after-sun lotion - the heart note is thus floral only in the most distant sense. The cedar provides a slightly woody base as a fitting backdrop, without weighing the fragrance down at the end.
Everything here is just right, the progression is harmonious and no note is disturbing. It has a casual, relaxed quality that makes it perfect for casual wear. Turquatic is for me the perfect spring to summer fragrance, as it not only refreshes purely but truly has a little scent progression and good longevity for its fragrance type, brings good mood, smells clean and well-groomed, and despite all the freshness, is gentle - and yes! - sexy.
The downside: The price, 20ml for 30 euros (there is only this one size) and according to some forums, it is no longer being produced. Therefore, I recently ordered a backup bottle online from the Turquoise, as Turquatic is one of my absolute favorite fragrances.
P.S.: Fans of D&G Light Blue, Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche, etc. will definitely like it!
