Thank you for the flowers!
The opening of Air of Style is wonderfully floral, delicate, and lightly sweet, but in a natural way, with a lot of openness and cheerfulness. I am spontaneously very enthusiastic. Even in the first minute, tuberose joins in. As a fan of tuberose, I quite like this, but I would have wished for the opening to last longer, as it is as sparkling and light as an airy rain of flowers. It quickly gives me the impression that gardenia is also part of the mix, and spontaneously, Air of Style reminds me a bit of Hothouse Flower by Ineke in the first few minutes. Gardenia is also present there. But Air of Style is much denser here and comes across as more artificial, while Ineke appears more natural and consistently conveys its airy openness.
However, this comparison only lasts briefly, and soon I find a strange undertone in Air of Style: a note that has a slight plastic hint in my nose. Is it the interplay of ylang-ylang with the typical, slightly piercing note of orange blossom, which would be quite pleasant on its own? Is it the jasmine that begins to prick? Or is it the strange bitumen note that some iris fragrances have? I don't know; it is probably a combination of several factors. The dominance of ylang-ylang is also too much for me at this stage.
After just under two hours, Air of Style becomes noticeably weaker and is covered with a powdery softness that makes me consider milder circumstances for it.
Now I increasingly like Air of Style again. It is as if the fragrance components, just like in "Velvet Teddy" from the same brand, had to arrange themselves from an initial chaos, organize, and unite.
The tuberose is now complemented by jasmine, so they keep each other in check. I have noticed several times that these two are able to bring out the best in each other. A wonderfully fine, sweet powder of iris is added and lasts for several hours. It is so beautifully delicate yet intense that I am now even considering whether to add Air of Style to my wish list.
By the 5th hour, I gradually notice a leather undertone that I find very pleasant. Now it seems to be heading into the base, where floral and powdery notes continue to resonate alongside the leather. The artificial aspect becomes stronger again towards the end, and the slightly piercing note is also more noticeable again. Unfortunately, this means that it will not be a complete happy ending between Air of Style and me.
Conclusion: A charming top note that unfortunately lasts only a very short time, followed by a dynamic progression with interesting twists. For me, it will initially stay off the wish list due to a bit too much ylang-ylang in the heart note and the fact that it seems somewhat piercing to me in between. But I will definitely get a sample at some point.
This fragrance is certainly not unisex and is more suited for spring and summer. It lasts on me for about 8 hours; after that, it lingers for a long time, but only very faintly. Even though it couldn't completely captivate me, it will surely find its dedicated admirers, and I can understand them: it is somehow great, especially if you like tuberose, ylang-ylang, and powder. It is definitely worth a test.
Thank you for these beautiful flowers in the travel package, Freebird1968.
