This fragrance opens with an old-fashioned accord comprised of citrus notes, mint and lavender. Musky undertones make the accord deep and masculine. As it dries down flecks of black currant, neroli and jasmine sweeten and brighten the dark composition. Further along the fragrance’s development, vetiver emerges and mixes beautifully with the remainder of the floral notes. Sadly on my skin the scent looses a lot of its strength as it progresses and after three hours of wearing it is barely detectable.

Intriguing

This fragrances does intrigues me. It has many subtle nuances, yet easily perceived after some uses.

I can say this is a true green fragrance,. but not light or ethereal as many in the market. This is a heavy green one.

The opening is a bit strange, smells something dirty and wet.

The main player here is the mint note, which joins the composition after the top notes and remains there for the whole drydown.

Definetely worth trying this fragrance: complex and very artistic, also much different from the actual releases.

rough-edged civility

I got this with a bunch of MPG samples and am never afraid to try smelling like a man!;>) I find that the MPGs have a slightly rough edge to them, similar to 4711, the Roger & Gallets, etc., rather than the smoothness of other niche perfumes. In this case, that's kind of nice. It starts as a rough and aromatic lavender and citrus. At drydown, I get lots of lavender with a hint of the blackcurrant (cassis) that almost smells like red grapes. It would be quite pleasant on anyone on a hot, sunny day, especially if kept refrigerated. The blackcurrant gives it a little bit of something different than the usual cologne. This is long lasting on me, but so are most perfumes. The only problem is that you can't usually find MPGs at the discounters. I don't know that this is special enough to justify the price. (050609)
