Jungle Book for Advanced Users
Everyone knows the black panther from the Jungle Book - Bagheera. He finds Mowgli in the jungle and brings him to the wolves, who raise him. He protects Mowgli, while Baloo takes on the fun part, and one always has to watch out for Kaa, as he likes to strangle Mowgli when Bagheera isn't paying attention. "Try it with a little ease" is something my daughter and I always sang passionately. Or the monkey dance "King Louie - I wish I could be like you." When she was little, the film was also a series, which was lovely too. But the classic film by Walt Disney remains unmatched for me.
I can't judge how panthers smell, as I've never been that close. Maybe more like human pumas, which are often said to smell. Bagheera is truly a small work of art, a long-lasting piece that tells a beautiful fragrance story. Since Munich is a small village when it comes to perfume, I picked up this little treasure yesterday, had a nice chat over a cozy beer, and also tried Manly right away.
Bagheera starts off sharp on my skin; I think it's the violet that gives the sharpness. There’s also a fruity note from the blackberry. And immediately, I can smell sweat on my skin, but not unpleasantly. I don't perceive any sweetness at first - Bagheera is unsweetened for a very long time; only after a few hours does sweetness emerge, becoming powdery, with leather coming in, but not very leathery for me. The cedar is also quite noticeable on my skin in the beginning. And today, the next morning, Bagheera is still there, though just a hint on my wrist, but still well perceivable. I call that perseverance.
I can't compare the scent to any other, as I haven't smelled anything similar. I tend to lean towards sweet fragrances and am surprised at how much I like Bagheera. Also, because I'm not particularly fond of sweat notes, and that combined with leather sounds rather yuck to me. But Bagheera is beautiful and anything but yuck. As already mentioned, a small work of art.
