Milky Tropical Scent
What makes Safariyah stand out from the many, many other fruity tropical summer perfumes? The interesting combination of milk, lychee and neroli. It opens with a dominant lychee note that is quite realistic, although not as sweet as the fruit itself. If you are not a fan of milk notes, steer away, because as the heart notes open up, it becomes very prominent and continues well into the dry down. I love the way the milk and neroli, sandalwood and red orange play together, but would have appreciated a touch more sandalwood. The scent almost becomes a touch sweet-gourmand, as it has a shadow of the buttery cookies in Madeleine, but with the volume turned way, way down. Very interesting fragrance, my only pet peeve being the speed with which it becomes a skin scent. But I have been playing with a small sample, to be fair.
