Red fireworks over Valencia
I was in Valencia just this summer. I had a wonderful time in the city and couldn't resist after seeing the exciting scents, so I ordered the fragrance as part of a sharing.
I had certain expectations of the fragrance. The scent of bitter orange stuck in my mind and I was expecting a sweet and fruity experience with a bitter touch. Later, the sweetness was supposed to fade and the fragrance would fade into soft church benches.
But it turned out differently.
The fragrance ignites immediately on the skin. An unexpectedly smoky cloud rises and only hints at the tart orange in the aftertaste. It is a different orange. A serious one, an elegant one, one that makes a statement, like on the rim of a dry, alcoholic drink in an overpriced bar.
The progression of the fragrance is fairly linear and replaces the bitter orange with dry wood in the long term. At least here I was right in my expectations. I didn't think it would last very long, as the base notes didn't suggest this, but the fragrance clings like a jacket after a visit to the club.
I think the creative fragrance notes have paid off and the scent fits well with one side of Valencia. After a week's stay, I am not an expert or even a resident who claims to know how the city can be fully represented. I can only say for myself that the dry, sunny city by the sea with a connection to oranges goes well with this fragrance. They could have opted for something aquatic here. Instead, they chose a different image and walked through the lively, dusty streets of the city with its historic churches and the orange as an important object of identification.
I really like this fragrance and I recommend it as an evening companion. Best at times when the remnants of daylight still light up the sky a little (summer and fall).
I can also only recommend trying this fragrance on your skin. The effect on the test strip is not nearly as smoky as on the body.
In the end, I can say that the purchase of the fragrance was very worthwhile for me and I am really happy with the brand, which was previously unknown to me. A perfumery that joins the ranks of perfumeries that sometimes have more extravagant stories to tell, even if not everyone will necessarily have the same positive experience in the end. Because they are simply different. More differentiated, more creative, more courageous.
