A love that smells like lavender...
One could say that I cannot have an unbiased opinion, as lavender is one of my absolute favorite notes. Nevertheless, I would like to write a few words about this beautiful fragrance, which is among my favorites.
The lavender starts off very strong and spicy, together with rosemary and sage; some might claim this gives it a rather masculine touch at the beginning. Personally, I get little of the listed bergamot, but soon the tonka bean appears and calms the fragrance a bit. The spiciness diminishes somewhat over time, the scent becomes rounder, softer, and more pleasing - however, the beautiful lavender remains.
Anyone who has ever stood in the Lubéron in southern France in front of blooming lavender fields can imagine what this perfume smells like. Unlike many lavender scents on the market, it is not a synthetic bath additive lavender, but actually reminds me of nature. Perhaps due to the bergamot and vetiver, it does not evoke a field under the blazing hot sun, but rather a cool summer morning, when the dew still rests on the flowers and one can also perceive the herbs among the plants, while the fog is already lifting and another warm day is on the horizon.
In my opinion, an underrated fragrance that deserves more attention.
