A soft and pleasant scent that needs better longevity

Method : sprayed on right arm after shower

Ahh, Ocean. The cleaner, glossier sister of the more immature brother, Sport. The color scheme is a cool and calming medium on dark, giving character and mystique.

Doing some fresh sprays here on a different part so I can get both the drydown and the top notes.

This opens with very fresh lemon seltzer, mating with Gain laundry soap. It's very calming and soothing, yet bright and punchy. Lemon poppyseed muffin settles in on the skin with slight notes of clean silk and amber underneath. After a couple minutes some lovely earthy floral notes (geranium) start to surface (which I love - more geranium please). At its sundown you are getting mostly earthy lemon soap - pleasant, damp, clean.

This is not a long lasting adventure. This feels like a small town Ferris Wheel ride that ends about 3 minutes too soon and you're not sure if you want to get back in line, but somehow you feel like you have to, because you need that extra 3 minutes to feel like you truly rode the thing. A reapply is definitely needed within an hour of spraying, so I guess you could say it lasts between 40-60 minutes. The sillage is poor, and the projection is about an inch.

Unfortunately for everybody, MKHI Sport is the longer performer. But nobody wants to smell like a Mint Julep so get outta here with that.

Ocean is not worth its $46.00 price point from the MK website chiefly due to its poor performance. The scent is pretty good in my opinion, though just barely still in the "forgettable" camp. I would still wear this but donate the Sport if I had to.

This is the kind of bottle you keep in your car or locker and reapply on your breaks and after every major errand. In that regard it would be good, but nobody likes to be chained to a bottle of juice all day.

If you get gifted this, say "thank you". Then wear it. Don't throw it at them because throwing things isn't nice. What's the matter with you?
