Not too strict, with the affordable fragrances
Yes, Michalsky Men is not a great, unique scent.
Yes, it smells like a rosy-fresh variation of Tdh.
Yes, the fragrance doesn't make much of an impression.
Yes, the low price is off-putting or at least raises eyebrows.
Yes, the bottle is boldly stolen from Bang.
Yes, the name Michalsky is not directly associated with olfactory masterpieces.
Yes, you can't stand out this way.
Yes, it is actually only suitable for the office & leisure.
Yes, there are higher-quality alternatives.
Yes, it is just a beginner's fragrance.
Yes, especially in the niche market, there are plenty of breathtaking rose scents.
Yes, you have prejudices when you smell all this.
Yes, it is tailored & sometimes reminds one of shower gel.
Yes, it is masculine but indecisive.
Yes, you could call it a follower.
Yes, this is how many men smell out there.
Yes, apart from pepper, grapefruit, lavender, vetiver & cedar, not much is noticeable.
Yes, it is simple.
Yes, outside of Germany, the scent & brand are virtually unknown.
Yes, I understand the current average rating of 63%
Yes, it also swims along with the average in terms of sillage & longevity.
Yes, I understand the critics & it doesn't belong in any collection that measures more than 5 fragrances.

Yes, but I like it.
It is pleasant & surely one of the best beginner fragrances you can receive as a gift from grandma or aunt. It should be appreciated, especially when you look at the competition in that price segment & the German shelf!

Nice!
“Nice” is a poisoned compliment. I mean it’s only half poisoned. Because: Actually, I wish Michalsky Men great success. I would be happy if many men in my surroundings would use this fragrance. However, for the parfumo community with its specific requirements for scents, it’s probably not suitable.
The grapefruit-pepper top note is pleasantly fresh and lasts quite a long time. Above all, the pepper lingers throughout the fragrance. My wardrobe is full of lavender sachets as a moth repellent. Accordingly, I rarely recognize the scent, but here I do. However, there are also very subtly other flowers involved that I could never have identified. It could be rose. I would have preferred this heart note to be more pronounced; vetiver and cedar come through quite quickly.
Michalsky Men is an absolutely everyday-appropriate fragrance, fresh enough for summer, but with the Terre d'Hermès trinity of pepper-vetiver-cedar, it is also warming in winter. Nothing stands out, it’s subtle, making it suitable for the office as well. Overdoing it should be difficult. A mediocre longevity also has its advantages; anyone wanting to wear something else in the evening can do so without regret and unwanted layering experiments. The scent is masculine enough for gentlemen who are afraid of unisex fragrances, but also so subtle and fresh that no one should fear they are not old enough yet.
Universal and original are hard to reconcile, especially considering similarly structured fragrances that have been on the market longer, like Terre d'Hermès with all its spin-offs or Lalique White, Red Vetyver, … Most of the mentioned ones have more character. So, for those who consciously choose perfumes and perhaps want to make a certain statement with their choice, Michalsky Men is unfortunately not for them. For everyone else, it is perfect for those who don’t want to think in the morning about which fragrance would be best suited for that day. Those who like Tom Ford For Men (very well made, but incredibly boring) will find Michalsky Men a more office-appropriate alternative.
As already mentioned, I would have wished for a more pronounced floral accord or another original idea (perhaps stealing the vegetables from the Nile garden …), even choosing a more profound vetiver would have worked wonders. Then I might have been tempted, especially considering the selling price …

The Little Cheap Brother
Since I received another sample delivery and found a copy of Michalsky Men in it, I have to share my thoughts here as well.
I've come across this perfume before, but only during a price comparison between Douglas and private sellers on eBay.

The bottle radiates a certain coolness and strength. It looks as if the container has imploded, which could explain the dents.

MM knocks on the nasal gate with a fresh, sour note. Pepper also joins the pool of scents and lightly tingles in my nostrils.
The described rose note from Apicius doesn’t come through for me, but I do perceive a floral pattern. Unfortunately, I can't describe which individual green nuances these are.

As it develops further, a true potpourri of olfactorily perceivable substances reveals itself. A balsamic hint settles over the wrist, a warm breeze of lavender floats by, and a resinous note also makes its presence known. All these mentioned fragrance notes are unfortunately only perceptible for a fraction of the time. Perhaps my perception is now influenced by reading the fragrance pyramid, but those who feel addressed can form their own judgment.

I would describe the base note as somewhat woody, as if an old wooden table has just been freshly polished. The old wood brings in the cedar scent, and the polishing agent adds the freshness kick of vetiver, without any chemical undertones. I don't perceive the supposedly contained balsamic sweetness of patchouli at all - which is a shame because this would make Michalsky Men a potential must-buy scent for me.

There are strong similarities to other perfumes; the first one that came to mind was Red Vetyver by Montale. However, I prefer Red Vetyver due to its more authentic, clearer, and heartier composition. Michalsky Men stays more in the background and is less "In Your Face" than the red one from Montale.

All in all, MM is a nice, not too intrusive scent that doesn’t need to hide. I would recommend it most for the warmer seasons as it radiates a certain basic freshness. I can only confirm its suitability for the office, as already noted below.

A Rose for the Office!
Brulure de Rose, Une Rose, Une Rose Chypré, Geranium pour Monsieur, Twill Rose, Black Tie, and all the Montale ouds: In the niche perfume world, there are plenty of opulent rose scents. Often very well crafted, always sophisticated and expansive, one wonders: can I really wear this today?

What is still hardly available - rose-like scents in the mass market, subtle and wearable. Even at Michalsky, no rose is listed in the pyramid, yet I can smell it. There seems to be a great deal of skepticism towards floral notes assumed for potential buyers. So they just leave it out.

The new men's fragrance from Michalski is essentially a restrained, subtle composition of woods: dry like the desert wind and noble like an antique piece of furniture. Above this lies the usual long-lasting citrus note, a concession to the current sporty fragrance trend. You don’t sense much lavender, but it allows the scent to float. And there are notes of rose or geranium, at least at the beginning, in the top and heart.

What is special about this perfume is its understated nature. Everything is executed so pleasantly discreetly that no ingredient ever becomes too much. Even the scratchiness often found at this price point is hardly present. The rose emerges from the background so subtly that it may not even be noticed by the wearer or others. Instead, one might wonder why this otherwise quite ordinary scent feels so refined.

After half an hour, the floral notes dissipate in favor of greater dryness. The fragrance takes on almost powdery nuances in the dry down. Very nicely done! I had the impression that the rose on the test strip is much more intense than on my skin. Presumably, the scent can be varied somewhat by spraying the perfume either on the skin or on clothing.

Michalski Men is aligned with the woody men’s fragrances from Dsquared, but in its subtlety, it is almost comparable to a Duel by Annick Goutal or even a Kenzopower. It’s very pleasant that it is available in a small 30ml bottle for the price of €32. And the bottle is cool. A simple, square metal bottle, whose embossed dents express that Michalski Men is not as smooth and styled as it may seem at first glance.

Quite a "nice" scent.
Michalsky Men starts off spicy-smoky accompanied by an underlying freshness like mint.
All in all, it's a good scent, but it still feels somewhat "incomplete," as if one or two components are missing.
Sillage and longevity are average.
Over time, the scent becomes quieter, with only the mint freshness remaining very prominent.
I actually find it quite a "nice" scent.

Nothing to complain about and nothing to praise; quite insignificant; doesn't last very long; office scent.
