Tropical and Refined Ambergris with Hoi An touches
Jamaican Ambergris is a true olfactory gem—effortlessly wearable yet rich in complexity and depth. It opens with the sweet yet green and aromatic nuances of jambu resin, setting the stage for an exquisite floral heart. The combination of frangipani and jasmine is both luminous and sensual, further elevated by the presence of high-quality ambergris, which lends its signature sandy, oceanic character that lingers throughout the composition.

A particularly distinctive oud adds an earthy-green facet with an almost aquatic feel, seamlessly blending with the incense-like depth of Hoi An, which introduces a subtle smoky elegance. The result is a beautifully balanced fragrance—fresh, tropical, and refined—where every note is harmonized to highlight the richness of the ambergris. A standout creation and one of my personal favorite from EO.

Tropical Gris
It was love at first swipe.
Tested by official EO sample, I bought it straight away.
It opens with a tropical floral scent immediately supported by a creamy animalic amber smoky scent of (perhaps) the most beautiful ambergris I have ever smelled.
The combination of flowers here is magnificent, I can't identify a single note, but the whole is something extraordinary really, it feels like tropical fruit and berries at times. The vanilla adds a further exotic hint to the whole.
The ambergris here is slightly smoky mineral, but very creamy and persistent. It follows you throughout the whole fragrance.
Crazy fragrance.

Tropical Elegance and Refinement
Jamaican Ambergris is one of the most intriguing and captivating fragrances I’ve ever experienced. This creation by Ensar Oud revolves around Jamaican ambergris, one of the rarest and most precious qualities, imparting a unique aura of depth and mystery.

The opening is surprisingly tropical, with a burst of fruity freshness that immediately draws you in. This fruity nuance persists throughout the fragrance’s journey, always supported by a creamy, slightly mineral ambergris base that is never overpowering. The overall effect is a luminous, sophisticated, and relaxing composition, with a depth that fascinates and enchants.

Jamaican Ambergris is a masterpiece of balance, transporting the senses on a journey of tropical elegance and sensuality while showcasing the unparalleled craftsmanship of Ensar Oud.

Talent? Yes!
This is by far the most approachable and appropriate iteration of the Jamaican Tropic theme regarding the Jamaican Ambergris Series. It’s pleasantly saline, tart and with a subtle floral lift. The fruity note never seems to wear off; it really does slot into his hoi ann oud, transparent, Floral with seriously toned a resinous backbone. It’s the flesh of the perfume, a thin film, setting the landscape. The fruit note seems almost to be an illusion, tart bright diffusive jasmine and frangi at top; then it’s an odd coalition between the vanilla and rose at drydown, fiercely balancing the generous amount of ambergris in this perfume. It reads as fruity. The textures and colors check, and the wearer does not realize this allows them some sort of way of experiencing synesthesia. old school oud guys are a little poetic with interpretation scent; I’m glad the approach is retained in this spray. The rose is not an ordinary rose to say the least, as it lasts for a scary amount of time, more than any Otto I own. This brings me to believe there is some scaffolding done here, which is neat. I love catching things like these, not because it’s easier; but because it attests to the perfumer’s awareness to detail. I think this is a benchmark for natural perfumery. It’s finely structured, like any classic commercial fragrances. Although this is much more special. I see this perfume more as a rose fragrance than ambergris, simply because of how astounding this rose note is. If you want a neat rose scent; devoid of the tacky sugary, citrus mess many offer, this is all. I can’t say more. Forget fruit; enjoy good rose. Forget the past JA releases, many chase these because of rarity, I say search for this before it becomes the next JA maroke SQ. The rarity isn’t quite there yet; so appreciate the perfumery while you can! This a gem; I’d own it if I was a spray person. But I’m not, I’m a boring person. I like oud oils more.

Thor has struck his anvil
The sea is rough, for a heavy storm has arisen.
A Viking ship navigates the stormy sea with whipping waves, howling wind, and lightning illuminating the sky.
Everyone knows - Thor is swinging his hammer and striking his anvil like never before. Sparks are flying in the sky.
Waves are piling up into huge, shifting constructs and then sinking again. They crash against the ship's hull, and the salty water has long since covered the entire deck of the ship.
The ship is tossed back and forth, the men hide under their animal-scented furs to escape the adversities of the storm a little.
A barrel filled with pickled fruit, which was brought on board as a supply, has splintered, causing the fruit and wood shards to mix in the salty sea water.
In the midst of this chaos, a healer kneels beside an injured man and treats him with various plant tinctures and flower oils.

The Vikings bravely continue to sail. Over time, Thor's fury subsides and the storm fades.
The clouds slowly part, brighten, and sunbeams fight their way through the previously dense cloud cover.
Eventually, the salt dries on the men's skin. Rain and storm have been endured.
What remains is the memory of this incredibly wild journey, the impressions, and the scent of salty ambergris.

Jamaican Ambergris is the third fragrance from the brand that bears this name.
I was curious about the scent and did not know what place it would take among the two others.
One reflects for me more the aquatic and salty properties of ambergris, while the other brings more fruity components into play.
This one, Jamaican Ambergris, connects the two scents and reflects both compositions in its own way.
From the very beginning, we have very, very intense and salty ambergris notes.
They give the fragrance aquatic and fruity qualities. The ambergris is so intense that it remains the main character throughout the entire composition. The name is absolutely fitting here.
It is rare for expensive ambergris to be used in such generous amounts, which makes the scent high-quality and unique.
There is also high-quality Hoi An Oud included, and not in small quantities (2 grams per 50ml). However, this is less prominent, as the ambergris initially overshadows everything.
As the fragrance develops, the oud notes, on which the scent is based, emerge in interplay with creamy sandalwood.
Juicy roses and blossoms lighten the composition a bit, while vetiver, Peru balsam, and massoia wood keep the strong fruity notes in check with dry, woody, and slightly resinous notes, preventing the scent from becoming too floral or too sweet.

For me, Jamaican Ambergris is the best of the series, and anyone looking for a concentrated dose of ambergris has found a great scent here, though it comes at a price.
For me, a grand release.

If the price is too high, but one absolutely wants to experience this ambergris, one can also take a look at the "Jamaican Ambergris Attar | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," which is also incredibly intense.

Here's a little tip: Habana Ambar is like 85% similar to JA, still available, half the cost, and has a darker, longer-lasting scent profile.

I don't understand the hype. The scent is pleasant, with a hint of high-quality ambergris. But the heart it's mainly sweet tropical fruits.
