Fresh spicy incense
On first spray some citrus notes try to make their presence known, but are outshone by fresh coriander, jasmine, and juniper berries. As the top notes fade away, the dry-down is mostly frankincense and leather, but of the ambery kind and with some oakmoss thrown in. My nose is very sensitive to incense so YMMV.

Projection is never beyond arm’s length, but longevity is very good. Certainly not a powerhouse. I enjoy Missoni Uomo, also because there isn't anything close to it in my collection.

Masculinity Level: Hard for me not to think about church when incense is involved so I'm going with a priest, but no ordinary priest: De Niro in Sleepers, a priest who lies under oath to send pedophiles to jail.

Solid leather
Missoni Uomo opens as a good old-school balsamic leather chypre, bitter and herbal, with a “waxy” feel and a certain similarity with many classic leathers on the powdery-smoky-herbal side, from Habanita to Etro Gomma via Knize Ten. The fragrance is undoubtedly rich and nice, I personally don’t get any “cheap” flaws or unpleasant nuances; it’s elegant, classy, dark, “virile” but gentle and definitely solid, with a quite peculiar and utterly pleasant sort of balsamic-soapy-vanillic touch with a subtle fruity aftertaste too, which makes Missoni Uomo slightly reminding Bel Ami as well. A gentler kind of leather. The drydown is perfectly mastered as well, dry and somehow discreet but dense and compelling – basically still leather, oakmoss, and a powdery-musky-ambery dust. Perhaps not the most creative around, but a honest, refined, high-quality “copycat” worthy a sniff for sure.

So "Old School" but also!!
Many such fragrances I find simply "kneeling" great. This one definitely belongs to that category! Declared as a "men's scent," yet that has never been an obstacle for me, as I have always loved and worn "men's perfumes."
And it is precisely these "crazy old ones" that represent a "high school of fragrance creations." Even the quite affordable ones. Here, the nose still has "something to do" and finds great pleasure in it. Just the opening of this "Italian" is a delight for the nose. Here, the slightly sour freshness of lemons meets the spicy-herbaceous notes of basil, the bitter-woody scent of juniper, and the extremely green notes of galbanum.
None of the fragrance notes tries to overshadow the others. Everything unites into a slightly rough harmony. When the "heart note" joins in, an earthy-floral herbal mood sets in, meandering fascinatingly. Like a natural river course that gives a landscape a mysterious life of its own. The "top note," however, is by no means gone; rather, it integrates into the "circle." As for the so-called base, it announces itself quite early and also joins in. Fine leather, mystical amber, oak moss, and even fine dark traces of incense weave everything together beautifully.
After several hours of "classically great" fragrance experiences, a hint of clove paired with delicate woodiness remains as the final note.
If this isn't a perfume of old school, I might as well be called "Küwalda" :-))

Animalistic Italian
A very rare one at that. There are few owners here, and it's hardly available on eBay anymore. This fragrance certainly deserves a bit more recognition, so I will write a short initial comment...

Right from the opening, a distinct note of sweat wafts towards me, which quickly dissipates. Nothing unusual for men's fragrances from this era, and I was quite sure that this would be the beginning of an interesting olfactory journey.

This journey is then undertaken with relatively heavy luggage and is clearly dominated by clove, which still leaves room in the suitcase for floral, woody, and leathery notes. "Missoni Uomo" then struts forward with a proud and broad chest, a classic Italian macho in the style of "Trussardi Uomo" (without its bad mood) or "Fendi Uomo" (without its extraordinary softness).

So I enjoy my good old classics: free from any freshness or synthetics. Fragrances with a statement. Fragrances without fear or false modesty. Old-schoolers can confidently indulge here, just like with practically all Italians from the 80s/90s.

80s power scent, wow, it really packs a punch. Everything you could fit in from that era, plus cinnamon. Complex, rounded, but a bit too much for me.

From memory: Spicy, warm and dark, masculine scent. Fits well with thick, heavy Missoni knitwear. Not my fragrance (anymore)....
