Missoni = Mainstream

Missoni has interested me for a while. The fragrance notes all sounded good, and the bottle is truly beautiful. A lady in the perfume shop once held a test strip under my nose, and I was immediately positively surprised. A few weeks ago, I decided to order Missoni when it was on sale. Now I can finally test it more extensively.

Missoni starts off very fresh and citrusy, but becomes softer and sweeter with the pear note. So, they are by no means sour citrus notes; rather, they are pleasantly sweet and fresh.
Very soon, the floral notes come through. I can clearly recognize the jasmine, but I can't say what other floral notes are mixed in.
Towards the base, it becomes sweet and woody. Overall, Missoni is a consistently soft and harmonious fragrance that aims to please. It is not a surprise package, but rather very predictable.

I am a bit disappointed with the scent. It is nothing extraordinary, and to be honest, there are already plenty of sweet floral-fruity fragrances out there. It also lacks a distinctive character for me and could really be any generic fragrance. I wouldn't recognize it. The longevity and sillage unfortunately leave much to be desired. The bottle alone is and remains a feast for the eyes. Nevertheless, I think many will like it because it is simply mainstream.

Reminds me of La Vie est Belle by Lancome

I’ve had a sample of Missoni Eau de Parfum in my desk drawer for a while now. So it happened that I became curious about the promising Italian yesterday afternoon. Thus, I set out once again on a mission to test a new fragrance.

What can I say, after the first spray, the scent of La Vie est Belle by Lancome immediately greets me. I can’t help it, but that’s exactly how Missoni smells to me! Unfortunately, I can’t detect either an Italian lemon or an Italian bergamot. With a bit of imagination, one might sense the pear.

In my opinion, the fragrance leans more towards the floral facets as listed in the heart note. All in all, Missoni is a very sweet, powdery scent and will appeal to all those girls, ladies, and perhaps even gentlemen who have a fondness for the scent of La Vie est Belle! ;-) By the way, I suggested it as a fragrance twin for that reason. ;-)

Love at First Scent

Admittedly: I would never have noticed this fragrance if the bottle designer hadn't done such a magnificent job here. I was so enchanted by the look of this little treasure that I couldn't resist a small scent test.

Lo and behold: The fragrance delivers exactly what the bottle promises. A fruity, delicious sweetness that makes me wish I could drink the contents of the bottle. Not piercing, not excessive, not overwhelming, but simply zesty and cheerful, the scent embraces you without bothering the wearer or those nearby. A beautiful, cheerful, sunny fruit basket that fades into a magical, delicate, velvety finish.

They haven't reinvented the wheel, but I fell in love immediately!

rewarding effort

Today, on Saturday, I set out for the city to look for a fragrance for my girlfriend.
It was hard to get anywhere, as it seemed like everything with feet was out and about.
Not necessarily my scene, but my effort was rewarded with a few samples that sounded interesting.

One of them is Missoni.

Until now, I only knew the colorful clothing of this label, but the fragrance is also original and vibrant - and equipped with a charming wink.

In a fruit basket, I am presented with pear, lemon, and bergamot - a sweet-fresh mix.
Very Mediterranean and sunny.
Jasmine Sambac appears elegantly on the scene, but does not diminish the Italian zest for life.
Sandalwood and tonka bean are soft and flowing, like the fabrics of this brand.

The fragrance is cuddly and dazzling - and I see myself back then strolling the streets of Rome in a lilac satin dress and silver ballerinas, where gentlemen called out to me, praising, "Principessa!"

"Pure Dolce Vita" - just like the fragrance.
