Very interesting new publication
About 1992 - initially this gives the impression that it is a fragrance from the last millennium. De facto Ubar 1992 is a new release from the year 2018 of the Italian fragrance hmiede Moresque and I think it is fair to speak of a niche fragrance, because neither Moresque nor Ubar have been noticed so far. Too bad actually.
Ubar 1992, from the Secret Collection Series of Moresque (the name is intended to evoke associations with Mauritania) or Definition is a fragrance from the oriental corner. In comparison to many others of this kind, the big difference in my opinion is that the fresh top note of bergamot and cypress makes room for black pepper and labdanum over time, but never sinks and thus preserves a hint of freshness until the end, which makes the fragrance so unique. A thought about Labdanum: in many perfumes this is a component predominantly in the base note and this basic resinous smelling ingredient is, if too dominant, then equally unpleasant and sometimes also intrusive, here perfectly dosed, there is Ubar a fine undertone, which allows both leather and patchouli space to unfold.
Even if it is listed in the unisex section, Ubar is rather male in nature from my point of view, although I could imagine one or the other Amazon as a wearer. For me wearable all year round, due to the freshness described above no killer by Orient admixtures, a fine, interesting new fragrance, which makes much different, than various other Orientals. Test recommendation!
