Safe, Inoffensive, good for office.
On first spray, you are greeted with an aquatic, fresh, scent. Sweet and musky after a few minutes but the aquatic qualities are still there. Basically this frag can be summed up as sea notes, lavender and musk. Other notes are buried in obscurity.

On me, this can last for 5 to 6 hrs. tops then it becomes a skin scent and I live with a generally hot and humid climate so that is quite good.

Not saying that this is good as Bvlagari Aqua, but along with that, N-83 reminds me of great body of water...well, actually, maybe Aqua is for the ocean while N-83 is for a recently maintained pool since it smells so clean. :-)

Nightmarishly Complex, Bizarre, or Illogical Quality
Do you think Nautica Voyage N-83 is Kafkaesque? Let's argue about that scent a bit more. First thing, I've got a few colognes from Nautica, including Voyage and Life. Today, though, I want to tackle a flanker fragrance of Voyage, Voyage N-83 (Nautica-1983 ed). Like other Nautica scents, this is another inexpensive option in the fresh and aquatic realm of men's colognes.

N-83 is a beautiful, clean, and soapy sort of scent pretty plain and straightforward, which opens with a striking blast of sea accord, giving it a defined oceanic salty smell and can remind wearers of cool ocean breezes. Figure out cold seawater splashing against your face and surrounding yourself with the ocean's unique scent. That delicate sea notes combine with spicy mint and petitgrain to create an outdoorsy redolence. To me, at this stage, it is less similar to the original Voyage, which has citrus fruit notes, including orange. Nevertheless, N-83 is fresh and clean, with a tinge of slight licorice aroma that is not present in the original.

The softer middle notes help to round the fragrance with spicy-sweet nutmeg, undertones of cardamom, and smooth, soapy lavender trimmed out by the mint.

The dry down is musky and woody, with notes of wild musk, creamy sandalwood, and blue cedar needles that make it a cologne strongly sketched for men.

When it comes to performances, projection wise N-83 is quite moderate, meaning that ain't one that will fill up a room unless you went completely overboard with it. Even longevity isn't that great, either. I think that is one of the weaknesses compared with the original, and after a few hours, it quickly fades into a skin scent without a trail. For the sake of clarity, it's helpful to consider that there are a time and place for weaker scents. That N-83 isn't a projection monster or long-lasting can both be assets if you want to wear something lighter for work or just going out casually for a few hours but not be all over you when you go to bed.
It is lovely good for casual wear or at the office, especially in the summer months, which is the case with pretty much any Nautica fragrance. It doesn't overpower friends or coworkers, yet someone could even find it a perfect cologne to wear during workouts and sports. It is an ideal cologne for younger men, or for anyone who wants a pure fragrance to wear during the summer.

smells like soap I used to use as a kid, that changes character
I have a vintage bottle, but soap soap soap!!! I hate soap smell's in colognes I really do, but to be fair

I do pick up mint and can see the ceder can see the influnce of the cardamom but not really showing it's self kind hiding while leading the mint in another direction not really into it seems kind of a weird direction theres also a note in there not sure what it is but don't really like it, smells a little bitter don't see watermelon as a note but it has a hint of that out skin cucumber thing going (not sweet) actually out side of the bitter note, it's really not that bad!
it is definitely masculine (Don't ware this ladies!) very fresh out the shower scent
waiting an hour to finish this review for dry down
k it's dryed down to having that watermelon skin/cucumber with ceder still has a slight hint of the mint but really only noticeable if you are looking for it, the bitter thing is gone but slightly threatening to turn a little sweet while not doing it if you know what I mean it's an interesting scent to smell through the notes but don't like to ware this one, or really like it, simply it's not really unique I can think of a few soaps growing up this is very VERY close to(suspicion of cloning those soaps scents)! so nope me no likey!!

Insanely cool bottle with only slightly different notes from OG Voyage
Purchased at : Bealls
Price Paid : $16.99
Format : 3.4 oz bottle
Method : Sprayed onto right arm

I'm NOT a Voyage fan. I was initially. After a month of owning it, all I could smell was sour cucumber milk. So I ditched the line practically, but not before I went ham on buying all the flankers before I got sick of that repugnant note. Yeah I'm a bit impulsive (passionate?).

It should be said that N-83 has BY FAR the coolest bottle and box design out of all of them (I love the compass design), and I'm considering keeping it just for that. In fact, this review is partially the litmus test for that. Here we go.

Sprayed at 1:10PM. Lemon, white flower musk, cucumber, melon, sea notes, windex, bergamot, all under a wet musty blanket. After 5 minutes the Voyage DNA starts to creep in big time... it's like a lemon popsicle mixed with a musty moldy basement. And you're standing at the top of the stairs, and see an entire flat of Voyage OG smashed open and there's glass and liquid everywhere.

N-83 does get a bit more enjoyable than Midnight Voyage [on other arm] after 15 minutes.

One hour update : the N-83's family DNA is showing. The green-cucumber-skin note is quite prominent, with a little bergamot though not much; but the Midnight Voyage turned hard right, into warm-ambery. So in my view I'd put Midnight Voyage above N-83 so far, due to its departure from ...."THE NOTE".

3.5 hour update : N-83 is still present on skin but not as present as Midnight. Have to put a little effort into smelling it. Projection is 1" or less. Midnight still jumps from the skin.

This scent finally faded into oblivion around the 4 hour mark. Not bad at all. It seems that N-83 wins for initial top notes, but Midnight Voyage wins out for overall scent and longevity (gave me 6 solid hours).

Overall, I have so many colognes now that it makes no sense to keep this. I still love the bottle! If you absolutely LOVE the Voyage scent (but why?), this is a worthy pick-up. It's like Voyage with extra depth and mustiness. On the flip, if you only sorta like Voyage, and want something entirely different, get the Midnight Voyage. It is quite a bit more expensive per ml but it does last longer.

N-83 : For fans of Voyage.

Nautica Voyage But Better
Synthetic, marine scent. I bought It because I wanted to see how it stacked up to the original, considering nautica voyage is not exactly known for being a masterpiece. A nice twist on Nautica Voyage. Better longevity, projection, and far better scent than NV. Solid, with great price value. 6.5/10 overall.

Opening reminds me a tad of Dylan Blue, this is of course much softer and lasts way less, but it has that “newer Nautica” vibe. I like despite this.
