Delicious Perfume
Caden from the Arab House of Niche Haute Luxury Perfumery OmanLuxury from the Sultanate of Oman is a Leather, Spicy Amber Woody Unisex perfume. This new fragrance launched in May 2025; and the nose behind this fragrance is Maxime Exler. Inspired by Arabian hospitality, Caden is the essence of the Omani tradition of welcoming its visitors. This perfume pushes the boundaries of convention to offer an intense, mysterious, and deeply addictive olfactory experience. The fragrance begins by rejecting the usual fresh, citrus or floral exit, opting directly for notes with arabesque characteristics: warm and sensual.

Caden has a delicious top with warm notes and an unusually enveloping striking sweetness. The warm and spicy cardamom provides an aromatic spark that leads to the exotic intensity of golden, sweet, leathery and slightly earthy saffron. They are quickly enveloped by the deep, slightly smoky aroma of cade oil [an essential oil with a dense, woody, smoky profile], which introduces a raw, mysterious, and arabesque atmosphere. A light and slight boozy nuance, in turn, contributes to a volatile and effervescent effect, elevating the composition to a provocative and modern opening.

At the heart of the composition, the fragrance begins to cool slightly without losing intensity. The subtle sweet incenses of benzoin, with its resinous sweetness makes an almost palatable duet with coffee, this roasted coffee accord adds a dark and energizing touch bringing more warmth and depth, this coffee (qahwa) with cardamom (al hyl) is a typical delicious Arabic drink. While a well-present velvety soft leather introduces a luxurious and creamy texture, reinforcing the addictive and sophisticated nature of this intermediate phase. The fragrance is always permeated by a very luxurious ambery accord, bringing the well-known oriental signature.

Towards drying, the fragrance has a rich, sensual and long-lasting base. The duo with vanilla in the spotlight and tonka bean provide a creamy and enveloping sweetness, without exaggeration and without being cloying. The guaiac, with its delicately smoky and slightly earthy woody aroma, merges with the warm character of amber, while the dense, resinous and animalistic labdanum closes the composition with a dark and seductive side that leaves an unforgettable trail moving the perfume away from becoming a gourmand without asking for its tasty aromatic quality. Caden is a fragrance inspired by the hospitality of Oman, especially sweets and coffee: leathery, velvety, woody, spicy, amber, slightly incensed fragrance, dominated by a delicious toasted vanilla. Delicious Perfume and Great Performance!

awesome
it smells like a very concentrated strawberry milkshake with a slightly dull scent. it’s not as sharp but has this smoother release of the fruits paired with that labdanum. Not too feminine and pairs well with a nice night out fall evening. this fragrance is versatile and can fit almost any occasion. The one issue i do have is that the smell for me is a little in consistent.

Pure Elegance
There are fragrances whose notes actually repel me on paper, and that was exactly the case with Caden.
Nevertheless, I wanted to give it a chance, and what can I say?
To my surprise, I fell a little in love with the first spray.

I am greeted by a warm, pleasant sweetness, paired with saffron, cardamom, and a slight alcoholic touch.
Although I am not a fan of either saffron or cardamom, both are blended here so brilliantly with the alcoholic accord that it simply smells amazing.
This alcoholic note is not sharp, but rather gives the fragrance a very noble touch.

In the drydown, the scent becomes resinous.
I distinctly perceive labdanum and benzoin, but everything remains pleasant and never becomes too much.
A light vanilla joins in, and from the middle of the fragrance journey, a dark coffee note becomes increasingly prominent, giving the scent a beautiful, dark side.
In the very end, a subtle, barely noticeable leather note rounds everything off.
Towards the end, I even think I catch a hint of oud, but that could also be my imagination.

Overall, the fragrance remains warm, spicy, sweet, resinous, and very oriental.
No note really stands out; for my nose, the dark coffee is the most dominant.

The performance is top-notch.
The longevity on my skin is at least 12 hours.
The sillage is present, but it doesn’t constantly hit you in the face; rather, you perceive it pleasantly with every movement.

Is it unisex? Definitely.
I do see it slightly leaning towards a man, but a woman can easily wear it without appearing masculine (M65%/35%W).
Unfortunately, Caden is not a bargain, but as soon as I spot a deal in the souk, I will definitely treat myself to it.

A potential final boss to fall in love with
A quick note: I often shy away from saffron and dominant leather, and I can usually be hunted down by heavy oriental fragrances. However, I keep trying to face my final bosses (one must expand their olfactory horizon, sigh...). Especially when they lure me in with notes that I actually like - such as cardamom, labdanum, coffee, and juniper - I become curious.
And so I tried sharing again with the thought: "Either it fries my nose hairs or I will be surprised..." So much for the starting point.

Caden was already labeled a potential final boss due to the terrifying notes, and I was ready to disdainfully give a middle-of-the-road rating like "nice, but not for me, good job if you like it, but it smelled bad, or a simple 'well, yeah...'" But the fragrance surprises.
It opens somewhat awkwardly, in my opinion, as the leather is immediately present in the first spray. But it is a gentle and soft suede, accompanied by fresh juniper and spicy-warm cardamom. Even a shy cistus flashes out early on. The blend is reconciliatory.
The saffron, if it is even noticeable, plays the supporting double bass in the background, instead of its usual, overwhelming, ostentatious violin solo in the front row. I become attentive. I like the music here.

Then comes the transformation to absolute bliss.
After 1 hour, Caden is fuller, softer. The comforting amber accord with the distinctly noticeable labdanum, other warm resins, and a mild tonka-vanilla warmth and fluffy-light sweetness joins in. I begin to bury my nose in my sweater and sniff deeply with delight. Like in a Lenor commercial, I start rubbing against my roll-neck as if I were a frisky cat at a valerian bush.
And as if that weren't enough, the coffee comes, not loudly, not with a bang. It rolls in on the tonka-labdanum-resin carriage, kisses my perfumed wrist, and I theatrically fall into a faint of cozy-sweet bliss.

From hour 2, it becomes confusing but beautiful. Like a Sims2 fling, no details are discernible anymore; at most, a note peeks out briefly from the dense, warm jumble of cozy happiness, and I purr to myself and roll my eyes strongly towards the back of my head after each sniff of my wrist or passing by my own scent cloud.
It is warm, soft, coffee-sweet. The fragrance is like the scent of a mocha being slowly prepared fresh in a luxuriously equipped wooden cabin. And here I am, lounging on the velvet chair with a view of a lush cistus bouquet, waiting for a labdanum servant to serve me the delicious mocha on an amber wood tray.

Once coffee in a leather cup, with sugar made of gold please
As I ground the fresh coffee beans from South America, a mysterious space opened up, filled with the scent of newly tamed leather whips. Their harsh streams flowed through the air, biting and pulling at the nose, yet at the same time, a fine sweetness mingled in, so tempting that one would want to spread it like a delicate cream on a piece of buttered bread.

Benjoin is very pronounced in this one together with coffee and vanilla. Amazing in sillage, more than when immediately sniffing it on skin

Sweet spicy, dark Baroque leather bomber,
well-crafted and very pleasing.
It strongly reminds me of B683 and Ganymede.

Saffron, coffee & lots of leather.
Warm, spicy, noble & slightly sweet.
Great scent, but unfortunately too masculine for me due to the strong leather note.

From the spiciness towards Side Effect, but noticeably denser, sweeter, and heavier. An absolute room-filler.

Great oriental spicy scent. Coffee is only subtly noticeable. In the dry down, it becomes slightly sweet, but pleasant. Rock rose adds freshness!

This scent will be talked about.
Beautiful spicy leather fragrance with a hint of coffee, which has pleasantly sweet notes in the dry down. Absolute banger!
