After a long time, I'm trying my hand at a review of a fragrance that immediately captivated me.
The scent of fig has accompanied me in several fragrances this year and I've liked it more and more with each fragrance. A few weeks ago, I came across
Wanderlust (2023) in the live ticker. The scent notes immediately caught my attention and I wanted to add the fragrance to my collection as soon as possible. But that was going to be a little more difficult at first.
A nice Parfumo informed me in an exchange that there are different versions of the fragrance in circulation. On the one hand, there is the
Wanderlust (2018) (differs from the fragrance image), then the
Wanderlust (2023) in a dark green flacon design. However, this is very limited. In the meantime, however, there is also the
Wanderlust (2023) in the flacon design of the
Wanderlust (2018).
Confused??? Yes, I was too!
However, once you have made your way through the jungle of different variants, the masterpiece reveals itself.
The fragrance starts with a sour, fruity, bright green apple. There is a certain synthetic quality to it, but I personally don't find it distracting. There is also a ripe, juicy-sweet fig and a clear teenage note. In the background, I detect a subtle hint of berry. Overall, the fragrance remains relatively linear. The projection is very good in my opinion. You are surrounded by a beautiful veil of fragrance for several hours and have to be careful not to overdose the fragrance.
However, the real magic for me was the association of the fragrance with a well-known smell from my childhood. Green apple rings! The sour ones that were dusted with sugar. I loved those things. Just for the memory of those carefree days, free from worries and responsibility, this fragrance is almost a hit for me.
Now not only has a new bottle moved into my collection, but perhaps one or two packs of "Green Apple Rings" have also found their way onto the shelf.
