Sweet Opulence
I love this fragrance. It is warm, comforting, enveloping, with sweetness of vanilla and substance of incense. It’s soft, rich, and woody, with just a touch of powderiness. It feels in my nose as a creamy milk chocolate feels in my mouth. It wears like an opulent velvet gown and I enjoy it very much. It reminds me of sadly discontinued Oriflame’s Nomadic, which I used to own back in the day. Now this one is discontinued as well. Why do they keep coming after the stuff I really like? Luckily for me, I’ve got a backup bottle, because I had enough of disappointments, when my favorite scents were cancelled. Yves Rocher’s Venice, Revillon’s Turbulences, Dior’s Midnight Poison, Oriflame’s Nomadic – rest in bliss…

If you miss Nomadic, but still can lay your hands on a bottle of Amber Elixir Night – it’s definitely worth a try as a replacement. I also find AEN similar to Jeanne Arthes Lover in Dark, only the latter is less creamy, more fruity and spicy, but with a similar enveloping warm woodiness and sweetness. So if Amber Elixir Night is out of reach, Lover in Dark is another very budget friendly option.

I earlier downvoted the similarity with “Ispahan” by Yves Rocher, but I must admit, there is a similar note when Amber Elixir Night dries down on the skin (benzoin maybe?) Something woody, balsamic, and a bit heavy – it did remind me of Ispahan a couple of times. However, overall, I’d say the impressions are very different. Amber Elixir Night is sweeter, creamier, while Ispahan is spicier, sharper, with some freshness – it plays on contrasts. Amber Elixir, on the other hand is a symphony.

Love this for the winter, but can imagine using it for nights in the summer too. It somehow feels more wearable than the original Amber Elixir often described as “bottled autumn.” Maybe it’s just some note that I find a bit persistent and annoying, but the original is sometimes a bit too much, while this “dark” and “winter” flanker feels much more friendly to me and I can’t get enough of it. Again, I think it’s appropriate for nighttime all year around, while the original Amber Elixir always felt too cloying and heavy for any weather above freezing temperatures. They are definitely different. Amber Elixir Night stands on its own - and beautifully so.

WSVE (A Warm and Spicy Vanilla Experience)
This one has character. Period. I know a few people who wrinkle their nose at Oriflame's fragrances, stating that they are all copies of more famous, fashionable and expensive scents. I have quite a few of this brand's lovely ones and I find most of them delightful, wearable and sold at a reasonable price.
AEN is one of its kind. Spicy in the opening, but after a few minutes the vanilla comes forward and this mix can easily keep up with a scent so famous and respected as Dior Addict. Sillage is fair, less than an arm's length but the longevity! Wauw, I must say! Marvellous. It is a bit like carrying a secret for a long time, being able to keep it close to your heart without anyone knowing :)
I even like the bottle. That is where I think Oriflame usually fall behind, not paying enough attention to design. But this bottle is wonderfully heavy, classy with metallic top, a bit like something you picked up at the apothecary in the late 1880s... All in all, well done. Recommendable.

For cold days - and nights
I have had this perfume for some years now. It is not part of my rotation shelf, but sometimes it catches my eyes and I give it attention for a few days. Days like today when it is really cold outside and I need the warmth and comfort from a spicy-sweet scent. Under these circumstances AEN is a good choice. It has the right amount of notes to make it interesting, for even though the amber note is dominant, the scent keeps changing, sending out a mix of powdery-sweet-spicy notes… so delicious! I dare say this is a sensual, maybe even sexy scent. You can easily wear it for bed, since it is not in any way loud or cloying.
The bottle has a classic look, with the beautiful metal detail on the top. I love the feeling of the rippled black glass. It I should ever want to make a series of scents, I would pick something like this bottle for all of them. Elegant and classic.
Should you stumble across this gem there is only one thing to do: buy it.

Iris in the Frankincense Cloud
Powdery scents are often beautiful. Well, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case when, for example, Oud ruins everything (Oud lovers may forgive me for this statement, but… no, I often find Oud simply disgusting…!), but… oh, I’m somehow tired and I can’t think of anything for an introduction, and I’m just typing randomly here. Meanwhile, I keep smelling myself (how that sounds…), but only because the scent is very beautiful!

The scent:
The scent begins with a partially slightly powdery, but also somewhat carroty iris. Quite quickly, the frankincense comes into play, enveloping the iris and all other notes like in a cloud of fragrance, seemingly enhancing it and allowing it to radiate better.
The amber adds a sweeter note, but you can smell the vanilla much better, which also becomes stronger and transitions the scent into a sweet powdery one. Overall, the scent remains warm and soft, with the sweetness being light. Over time, the amber becomes stronger, but considering that the scent is called Amber Elixir, I had imagined the amber to be stronger.
There are also slight clean, almost fabric softener-like notes, which, however, only last briefly. Additionally, it seems to occasionally become slightly fruitier. After about three to four hours, the scent is actually just powdery and sweet.

The longevity and sillage:
The longevity is rather average for an amber scent, lasting about five to six hours on me.
The sillage is not too bad for a powdery scent; the vanilla and frankincense project well and thus elevate the iris a bit. This means that the scent can be perceived quite well, although not for a long time.

The bottle:
The bottle is black and cylindrical with ribbed glass. The neck is gilded, topped with a similarly black and cylindrical ribbed cap with a golden plaque on the top side, which bears the name. Everything is nicely done. But when you tilt the bottle to the side, it looks like a tire!

Amber Elixir Night is a surprisingly good scent. Surprising because I expected a simple, typical powder scent, which is due to the fact that I am not familiar with the brand. But it smells wonderfully and pleasantly soft.

Especially the iris, which initially has a slightly carroty effect, brings some variety to the otherwise directly powdery scents (because here it smells both briefly carroty and then typically powdery).
If Amber Elixir were a bit stronger, I would even recommend it for going out, but as it is, it quickly becomes close to the body and not very projecting after a strong start. People nearby should still be able to perceive the scent, provided it is applied generously.

In my opinion, it can be worn at any time. Because it is neither sticky sweet nor too fresh, it fits into every season. Anyone who enjoys powdery notes and especially likes iris should definitely take a look at this one.

Amber Scent at a Low Price
Amber Elixir Night ... that sounds so mysterious... dark ... night ... a heavy hit. That's how I imagined it.
The fragrance pyramid lured me in, and so this scent was ordered blind ... for this price, you really can't go wrong :) The 50 ml is available at the perfumery with the i for an amazing 14.90 euros! A price sensation, and I'll say it right away... Amber Elixir Night is definitely not a cheap scent!
Now to the fragrance:
Amber Elixir Night starts with a slightly musty iris and quite herbaceous ... oh dear, that was my first impression. Luckily, it doesn't last very long.
The scent becomes warm and powdery and develops a fine spicy note. I can also detect incense, but only very subtly. Vanilla and amber join hands, and Amber Elixir Night now becomes sweet-powdery with a fine smoky note. I find the scent very well balanced... not too sweet and not too herbaceous. For me, it's a go-to... whether at work, for celebrations, or cuddling on the couch. I think it's suitable for any season.
The longevity on my skin is a good 5 hours.
The bottle is beautiful and doesn't feel cheap.
Conclusion: Warm-balsamic-powdery and also slightly oriental, Amber Elixir Night is for me.
It's not the hit I expected, but it is a pleasant, beautiful, and soothing scent and definitely worth a try.

Powdery iris takes a trip to the Orient. Visits amber and incense in their palace. It gets warm + cozy. Slightly sweet. Great P/L.

Wonderful amber scent for a small budget. Warm-balsamic, incense very subtle, nice vanilla & slightly powdery. Definitely worth a try!

Definitely one of the most intense from Oriflame, yet still quite lightweight. For fans of subtle amber scents. Office-friendly!

At first, a somewhat old-fashioned iris note, then a true oriental powder cloud of amber, vanilla, and really lovely incense. Elegant!

Pleasant warm, sweet powdery scent that gently melts into the skin.
Unfortunately, you can only enjoy it briefly, as it fades away very quickly.

Wonderful cuddly amber.
Soothing, warm, balsamic, and later slightly powdery. At this price, you can definitely reapply more often! Super :-)

a very gentle, intimate oriental companion, powdery-spicy, dark vanilla in an amber-sandalwood cloak, unfortunately fades very quickly.

A bit better performance than the Elixir
but unfortunately, it still struggles with H+S...
Well, you can just reapply it more often ;o)
