Stories of Billions of Years Breathing
Forest
Quiet-deep-dim.
Tree by tree...
Side by side...
Bottle green...
The pines
and their bark.
Tar seals wounds of human hands.
Forgotten...
Just a ring in their time.
Juniper wept bitter tears back then.
No mugwort grows today under cedars,
like in that time.
Human sound and smoke.
Once sniffing at the spicy forest floor.
Stories of billions of years breathing.
The mugwort at the beginning is almost piercingly sharp, retreating more and more until I can no longer perceive it. And I wouldn't know it was mugwort if it weren't mentioned above.
It forms a seamless transition to the fruity bottle green of the pine needles.
More and more notes of bark and forest floor creep in.
The cedar - the wood, juniper for a bit of freshness.
Leather is not relevant to me here. The forest is clearly in the foreground.
The tar, the smoke that everyone can smell, is just a trace on my skin. Therefore, I took the pitch used to seal wounds of trees and the transience of humanity. The scent has something melancholic about it. What I cannot perceive so clearly, I do not miss either, because this is a very successful forest scent for me. The perception of a fragrance is always a very personal impression.
