An unfortunate blind-buy
When I saw Samba Sport on a discount site for $12.59, I hoped I'd discovered one of those hidden gem '90s or 2000s fragrances that you can't believe is going for such a low price, like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. From what I'd read about it online, Samba Sport sounded like a lovely '90s sweet aquatic.
As is often true when we have an idea about something we've never experienced, the reality is, unfortunately, not as ideal. There is a very brief moment (like 2 seconds) after spraying this scent during which I think I could maybe like it. Then it begins to turn. At first I just thought maybe I'd gotten a bad bottle, but then I looked at the notes list and pinpointed what I smelled — apricot!
This scent smells like a cheap, watery version of a '90s aquatic with a big bag of dried apricots in the middle of it. I've always thought dried apricots smell a little bad, like they are toeing the fine line between sweet and rotting fruit. If that appeals to you, you're in luck.
